“As the mother of a fallen police officer (Euclid Officer Jacob Derbin E.O.W. 5-11-24), helping to create a monument for my son was one of the most heartbreaking and important decisions of my life.

Milano Monuments gave us far more than a monument, they gave us a beautiful tribute worthy of a hero.

Their compassion, craftsmanship, and attention to detail exceeded anything I could have imagined. The monument they created captures not only the officer and soldier Jacob became, but the amazing young man and son we loved so deeply.

Seeing it for the first time took my breath away. It felt like they understood this was not just stone, it was a way of honoring Jacob’s life, sacrifice, and story forever.

What makes Jacob’s monument even more special is that it began as a project started by his graduating classmates from the Cuyahoga Heights Class of 2018, along with an incredible community fundraising effort to make it possible. That project ultimately helped form the Officer Jacob Derbin Foundation, which now provides scholarships and supports meaningful efforts honoring Jacob’s legacy.

I will forever be grateful to Milano Monuments for treating my son, Officer Jacob Derbin, our family, and our community with such kindness, dignity, and respect during the darkest time of our lives.

But when the unthinkable happened my husband quickly reached out to Lou. He told me not to look anywhere else he is someone you can trust. When the moment came all of the details were taken care of and highly organized. Then came the moment where we had to sit with him and discuss next steps. I had no clue but he patiently guided us and made sure every thing was carefully thought of with no rush. His employees were EXCELLENT! From choosing the casket, getting the right image and verbiage for the obituary. Making sure that they had a few pictures of her so that they could apply right makeup and hair style, it was amazing. I’m glad that they had our back. The day of the viewing, the father who led prayers and last rights all amazing. The procession to the cemetery all so beautiful.

“This full service memorial business has taken care of services for two of my family members and I highly recommend them for any memorial you need. I am not in Ohio but I have been able to order and have delivered two different monuments to my love ones grave site with no problem and was happy to find they increased what they offered the second time around. I had no problems conducting transactions from another state either time. They went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of and I appreciate how easy they made it for me.“

“Herrick was extremely kind, warm, professional and helpful during such a difficult time. He was very responsive taking all my calls during business hours and responding outside of business hours. His embalming and makeup work were wonderful. My father looked alive! I've never compared costs, however, it seemed reasonable for the services.
The establishment itself could use some updates I believe. One employee (not Mr. or Mrs. Martin) was often on the phone indoors talking somewhat loudly during viewing hours which was ANNOYING! These were my only qualms, and I don't feel it fair to deduct a star for this. . . I would give 4.5 stars if possible.“

They actually went above and beyond expectations and leveled out my father’s headstone because we felt it was sinking.“
