Seeing it for the first time took my breath away. It felt like they understood this was not just stone, it was a way of honoring Jacob’s life, sacrifice, and story forever.

What makes Jacob’s monument even more special is that it began as a project started by his graduating classmates from the Cuyahoga Heights Class of 2018, along with an incredible community fundraising effort to make it possible. That project ultimately helped form the Officer Jacob Derbin Foundation, which now provides scholarships and supports meaningful efforts honoring Jacob’s legacy.

I will forever be grateful to Milano Monuments for treating my son, Officer Jacob Derbin, our family, and our community with such kindness, dignity, and respect during the darkest time of our lives.

“Herrick was extremely kind, warm, professional and helpful during such a difficult time. He was very responsive taking all my calls during business hours and responding outside of business hours. His embalming and makeup work were wonderful. My father looked alive! I've never compared costs, however, it seemed reasonable for the services.
The establishment itself could use some updates I believe. One employee (not Mr. or Mrs. Martin) was often on the phone indoors talking somewhat loudly during viewing hours which was ANNOYING! These were my only qualms, and I don't feel it fair to deduct a star for this. . . I would give 4.5 stars if possible.“
