“As the mother of a fallen police officer (Euclid Officer Jacob Derbin E.O.W. 5-11-24), helping to create a monument for my son was one of the most heartbreaking and important decisions of my life.

Milano Monuments gave us far more than a monument, they gave us a beautiful tribute worthy of a hero.

Their compassion, craftsmanship, and attention to detail exceeded anything I could have imagined. The monument they created captures not only the officer and soldier Jacob became, but the amazing young man and son we loved so deeply.

Seeing it for the first time took my breath away. It felt like they understood this was not just stone, it was a way of honoring Jacob’s life, sacrifice, and story forever.

What makes Jacob’s monument even more special is that it began as a project started by his graduating classmates from the Cuyahoga Heights Class of 2018, along with an incredible community fundraising effort to make it possible. That project ultimately helped form the Officer Jacob Derbin Foundation, which now provides scholarships and supports meaningful efforts honoring Jacob’s legacy.

I will forever be grateful to Milano Monuments for treating my son, Officer Jacob Derbin, our family, and our community with such kindness, dignity, and respect during the darkest time of our lives.

“I hate that I have to leave a review. Means I’ve had to use their services. I love the fact this place honors Muslims and has a section for us, respecting we need to be buried together. My dad is here now.. so is my cousin. My dad’s headstone has not been placed yet but my cousins was pretty much caked with mud. I hope the cemetery does upkeep with the headstones. I will be by as well to clean as many as I can. But it would be nice if the cemetery did it since they have grounds keepers.

“My father has been buried at this cemetery since 1986. My mother had purchased the plot next to my dad, and she recently passed away. My husband took care of all the details for the burial and the representative he worked with was professional, kind, and extremely helpful. We visit the gravesite often and it is well maintained. They actually went above and beyond expectations and leveled out my father’s headstone because we felt it was sinking.“
