This was my first visit to Dr. Li’s office after being urgently referred to a uveitis specialist by my ophthalmologist—and I walked in feeling nervous, half-blind in my right eye, and full of questions. Even though my interaction with the front desk was short (because the moment I walked in everything was already handled—just had to sign one quick form), I have to say: the women behind the desk were everything. Warm smiles, friendly vibes, and total competence. They were like the welcoming committee for this medical dream team—setting the tone with “you’re in good hands” energy before I even had the chance to sit down. Literally. I was just about to park myself in the waiting room when Darwin swooped in to bring me to the back. Now let’s talk about Darwin—this man is a GEM. Professional, knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely listened as I explained my symptoms. He asked all the right questions, got what I like to call my “eye vitals,” and when I mentioned the pressure and near-complete vision loss in one eye, he didn’t skip a beat—he checked my eye pressure right away and went straight to consult with Dr. Li. He also made me laugh, which was much needed. Like, give this man a raise and a trophy. Enter Dr. Li—poised, brilliant, and an absolute boss in the best possible way. She walked in with such calm authority and compassion, I instantly felt at ease. She took her time, examined my eyes in every way imaginable, asked thorough questions, and didn’t rush a single moment. When it came time to make the call on whether to send me to a specialist or perform an emergency procedure right there—she trusted her instincts, chose to act, and walked me through every single step so I knew exactly what to expect. Her communication was top-tier and her hands? Steady and confident. The whole procedure? Seamless. I left that office feeling like I had just been taken care of by the Beyoncé and Jay-Z of ophthalmology. Seriously. I trusted them implicitly and still do. This place is IT, and the MVP of the whole operation is Kenley. I've been here a couple of times, and every single time, Kenley has been a total rockstar. But my most recent visit? ICONIC. So here I am, thinking I need a whole new pair of glasses (cue the drama). Turns out, I just needed my current glasses (from over a year ago, no less) adjusted because, surprise, I never came back to get them fitted properly. Classic me. Kenley, with his top-tier humor and customer service finesse, had me cracking up while making my glasses fit like a glove. Seriously, who knew getting glasses adjusted could feel like a VIP experience? It took no less than 20 minutes for me to choose the frames and for her to make sure my insurance paperwork is ok. Maria went out of her way to accommodate my very complicated prescription, and the way I wear glasses a little bit lower on the nose, she messured everything perfectly. I have prism glasses, with transition and progressive lenses all in one. The glasses came in a week or so, and they are the very best glasses I ever had. “Extremely nice lady!! It was a little hard to find the place because there's at least 3 eye doctors on this block but she was very nice and understanding! She had us go to an emergency eye doctor for my boyfriend's eye hemorrhaging. He ended up thankfully not needing surgery and went to a specialist at Stonybrook in East setauket. Unfortunately it's diabetic related so it will definitely come back but his insurance doesn't kick in until March so for now we are just happy he doesn't need surgery and just rest for 2 months
