Davis Visionworks Southgate Shopping Center Eyewear And Opticians

“I've been a customer of this Visionworks (formerly Davis Vision) for most of my glasses-wearing life, and I recently had an outstanding experience there during my latest regular eye exam and prescription update, so I am writing this positive review both as thanks to them and to hopefully help other people find glasses that will work as well for them as mine have for me all these years. I particularly want to demonstrate how this Visionworks streamlines the whole process to the point where I can genuinely look forward to my appointments here, despite normally struggling with anxiety over similar appointments elsewhere (such as medical and dental).First off, I appreciate how easy it was to schedule my appointment on their website. I was even able to instantly reschedule it to later on the same day upon realizing I couldn't get to the store by the original time--with no awkward/apologetic phone call needed. The store itself is also easy to reach, with ample parking spaces throughout the Southgate shopping center.Within just a couple minutes of arriving, I was taken into a back room to undergo several vision/eye health tests and to have my eyes imaged or scanned in various ways. Now, I've always had *extreme* sensitivity about putting anything near or in my eyes, to the point where eye drops are very difficult to apply and contact lenses are completely unusable. Unfortunately, this also makes some of those aforementioned tests pretty uncomfortable for me—especially the dreaded “air puff test”, which always takes multiple attempts due to my uncontrollable blinking/twitching/tears in anticipation of the puffs. However, the technician (whose name I’m sorry I didn’t get) was patient and compassionate with me, offering practical advice and clever distractions at just the right moments to help me complete all the tests in what was probably my new record time.Next, my telehealth appointment with Dr. Echague was smooth and informative. Despite being a virtual consultation, he thoroughly reviewed all the test results with me and answered all my questions about my eye health. He even explained how I can expect things to progress in the coming years based on my current data. After receiving my updated prescription, I returned to the front of the store to choose from their extensive selection of frames in various sizes, styles, and colors, all of which are clearly labeled by brand and organized by price point. While I definitely appreciate the many options they provide, I initially struggled with indecision until an employee named Saige kindly offered assistance. She helped me identify the criteria that mattered most to me, such as extra width, durable materials, and large lens size, then she quickly found eight sample frames that matched what I was looking for. The insights she shared from her personal experience with glasses and her knowledge of other customers’ experiences helped me narrow down the selection to a pair of frames that will be the most comfortable and suit me best. I especially appreciated her fashion sense as someone lacking confidence in my own! Before placing the order, Saige took the time to review every optional feature for the custom lenses in my new glasses, including glare prevention, scratch/dust resistance, sunlight-triggered transitional tints, and extended warranty coverage. I was even provided demo models of two types of transition lenses for me to test outdoors. She also made sure I understood the pricing of my order, including how my insurance and Visionworks' discounts made it more affordable. Ultimately, I left the store very satisfied, confident that my new pair of glasses will feel better than ever.Overall, my experience at Visionworks in Massapequa was exceptional, thanks to the friendly and professional service from Saige, Dr. Echague, the technicians and the rest of their team. I highly recommend this store for anyone who wants to get quality glasses with minimal stress.“
