Loubet St and, 70th Ave, Forest Hills“I am a returning senior student who studied with Nick Russo over twenty years ago, as did my then teenage son. Then and now, Nick has been a knowledgeable and generous teacher. He is enthusiastic, encouraging, and patient. They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks but Nick is certainly teaching me some.
Since I have been playing guitar for almost 60 years, technique is not our main focus. What Nick has been helping me develop and improve is my ear. He is enabling me to hear more, sing more, and play more interesting music. I am optimistic that with Nick’s guidance I will achieve my goals. Having had experience as a student of Nick’s and as a parent of a student of Nick’s, I highly recommend Nick Russo as a teacher.“

“I am a come back player who put the horn down for 30 years before picking it back up again and trying to learn to play jazz and improvise.
I was about 6 or 7 years in to my come back when I started lessons with Bobby, and although I was already playing the odd session my technique was really unreliable - often when I played live it literally felt like I'd forgotten how to form an embouchure.
In my first lesson Bobby showed me the right way to practice flexibility exercises and after a couple of weeks I was playing up to D above high C in exercises, and using Gs and As above the staff in improvisation with confidence. My technique is still far from perfect but on a good day I have access to the full range of the horn with relative ease.
Over the next couple of years Bobby pushed me to take on harder tunes like Lady Bird, Have You Met Miss Jones, Joy Spring etc, and showed me how to link unrelated key centres with smooth lines.
One thing Bobby is really good at is helping you develop the style that you want. I am obsessed with Chet Baker and 1950s hard bop and Bobby held my hand through that journey and guided me in the right direction.
Now I play regular sessions and finally got asked to play my first gig with a professional jazz guitarist last month.
I am eternally grateful to Bobby for helping me acheive one of my life-long dreams. He is a wonderful player, a great teacher, and an all-round nice guy.
Thanks Bobby.“

1355 Northern Blvd, Manhasset“My 9-year-old daughter has been attending Actors Garage for the past two years, taking both acting classes and musical theater, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. The teachers, Ann and Leila, are truly amazing—warm, patient, and incredibly talented. They bring out the best in every child, encouraging confidence, creativity, and teamwork in a fun and supportive environment.
The theater program is absolutely fantastic. Every production is thoughtfully directed, professionally run, and full of heart. You can tell how much effort and care go into making each show special. The performances are always impressive, with high-quality sets, costumes, and choreography that make the kids feel like real stars on stage.
What I love most is that there’s no overly competitive atmosphere—just a genuine love for the arts and a sense of community. My daughter looks forward to every class and has grown so much, not just as a performer but also in self-confidence and communication. Actors Garage is truly a gem for young performers, and I highly recommend it to any parent looking for a nurturing, high-quality theater and acting program.“

135-15 37th Ave # 3F, Queens“This place is the definition of a five star experience. They were so accommodating and understanding. I didn’t want to keep them too late since I came an hour before closing but they set me right up after traveling with my Eastman; recently repaired cello on carry on air travel. (Soft case) My soundpost got knocked out during my travel. He fixed it in 45 minutes. He also caught my painfully lifted bridge and fixed it right up. No issue. My cello is much more comfortable to play on. If you’re a potential customer, Just pay the money up front and get ur instrument fixed right up. Up front . It’s that simple. This is the best place for string instrument repair. They are physicians. Very caring and attention to detail to your INSTRUMENT. If you’re a person who cares about the health of your instrument, and not your bodily urges; this is the place to go. Just have some respect and patience. We all need to eat and rest after a long day. It’s all about mutual care and rest. That’s all it is. You’ll have a fully repaired instrument in a matter of minutes. best repairs. I l love this place. I’ll be going back if I come across any issues; but for now, I am very happy with the service. I highly recommend. (P.s. my Eastman sat in my garage for 10 years with mutiple deep cracks, no strings, no bridge) I got it repaired with a new bridge and soundpost in Oklahoma City at OK strings and they also provided me with great service but they gave me a massive bridge that was hurting my fingers while I was practicing. I’m the type of person who doesn’t like to complain. I was happy with the service ok strings gave me too. They bought my instrument back to life with attention to care and detail. But Flushing violin shop contains a family of experts who are fast diagnosers and they fix issues with ease and grace. It’s 10000% worth it. Come here with respect and you’ll leave happy with a healthy instrument.“

321 E 69th St, New York“I cannot recommend the New York Conservatory of Music enough! I enrolled with the goal of learning piano, and I’ve been amazed by how much I’ve progressed. The faculty took the time to tailor lessons to my learning style, helping me not only develop strong technical skills but also gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of music. Their encouragement has fueled my passion and confidence. The personalized attention and expert guidance I’ve received here have truly been transformative.
The opportunities to perform in prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall have been incredibly rewarding, and the sense of community among students and instructors makes it a place I look forward to visiting every week. The group lessons, online classes, and master classes have provided additional layers of learning and growth. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced musician, this school is a fantastic place to cultivate your talent and love for music. If you’re serious about your musical journey, the New York Conservatory of Music is where you want to be!“
“James is an excellent teacher. He is patient, flexible with lessons, and incredibly knowledgeable about music theory/a vast array of instruments.“
“I've purchased a few necks from Kim. I explained to him what I wanted to accomplish and he offered recommendations. While not cheap, his necks are hand-made and even better than described on Kim's webpage. In the chain of variables effecting tone, the neck is pretty key. I can't say, in words, how much I appreciate and respect Kim. He truly is a master craftsman and expert on saxophone tone.“
“This is the best place for child to learn how to play piano!!! Mr. Kim is simply amazing.“

“Instructors here are very professional and patient. I also like the idea that the director kept trying to pass to every student. I would like my kids to grow happily by playing the music rather than gaining some goals. So literally, this is the place.“
