“I just moved to Delmar and needed a local optician to get my contacts prescription and refill. I was very impressed with the whole team. Very quick and easy to get an appointment, quick and easy “onboarding”, less than two minutes wait when I arrived for the appointment, and the doc was very friendly, kept me fully informed the whole time I was there. My new prescription is probably the best I’ve ever had, and … there was no attempt at “Upselling.’ We’ve all gone through it - you get there (not just in health care) and they try to sell you everything under the sun. Not at Hughes opticians. In fact, the doc recommended against certain things given my eyes and my prescription.

Stated differently I felt like the whole team cared about me and my eyes, not just on a sale. I will DEFINITELY go back.

I’ve moved a lot and had to switch eye doctors a lot. At the last one I was at in another state, it was like an assembly line…and they added every fee they could.. in fact, they charged a $35 dollar “fitting fee”. And there was nothing to fit! My contacts had to be specially ordered, and when they arrived they just handed them to me and sent me on my way. So why the $35 fitting fee? Precisely.

Not at Hughes…pricing was very straightforward - when I was checking out I actually asked the person helping me:“are you sure you calculated that correctly?!?” The price for the exam and one year’s worth of contacts just seemed way lower than I’ve paid before! And no fitting fee!

At first I thought not, but with recent developments that they are going to attempt to Prior Authorize the medications I asked for- (instead of Restatis) I feel at ease, even with my dry eye being uncomfortable, painful, and just plainly put: an unbearable situation combined with my eye allergies and other atopic disease's that I have. Dr. Jordan Kassoff, MD is a really good personable doctor and an attentive eye specialist for dry eye disease. “I’ve been here twice with glasses emergencies. Both times was in and out within 20 minutes with my expectations exceeded. First time glasses were broken, was told by another place that i had to get a jeweler to solder them and that they wouldn’t attempt to help. Again was in and out of walmart with the repair made within 20minutes. Second time my frames were snapped in half. Was told by two other places that they would have to order me frames and that it would be about 2-3 weeks. I was in and out of walmart within 20 minutes again with new frames for $9!! I didn’t need anything special as i have an appt with the VA in 2 weeks but cannot go without seeing for that long. Great customer service!!!“
