“I think Claude R Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home is the gold standard of funeral homes. My dad recently died, and we needed to set up a wake, funeral service, and burial. We were a bit overwhelmed by all the details. My mom wanted to go to Boyd-Spencer because she has always liked Charlie Spencer from our interactions with him when we attended other people’s services. Well, he was THE BEST! He helped my mom every step of the way, helping us navigate every detail and every possible scenario. She customized our wake service since she only wanted one time slot for viewing. We had planned to do the funeral mass the next day, but it was the same weekend as the Nor’easter!!! So, Charlie suggested we do the funeral mass at the funeral home. Wait…what?! Is that legit?! Well, not only is it legit, it was beautiful!! It was a lovely mass with an amazing priest and my mom, who walks with a rollator, didn’t have to worry about rain or getting soaked - it was the perfect solution! The funeral home has wonderful, convenient accessibility so she didn’t have to climb a steep staircase or ramp. It was 100% perfect!!
The women who work with Charlie are also so kind and helpful. When we needed extra thank you cards, they had them ready in a flash. I cannot say enough good things about these wonderful people and the way they treat everyone who walks through the door. They are comforting in your time of sorrow and offer support every step of the way. This is a true service to all who are “weary and heavy burdened” - they will lighten the load and make your heart happy, even in your saddest moments. I highly recommend Claude R.
