“A fractured shin for my 5 year old was certainly unexpected. After 5 weeks in a cast and boot, my daughter’s gait was off. I knew a pediatric physical therapist was a must for my daughter, so the search began. After speaking with Dr. Dana about my daughter’s case and temperament, it was clear this was the right fit for her. Even before meeting in person, Dr. Dana’s extensive knowledge and experience working with pediatric patients was clear. She thoughtfully worked with us to schedule two after school visits per week so no school was missed. My daughter worked extensively with Dr. Cheryl and Dr. Mansi each week, both of which are skilled therapists and wonderful with children. In addition, the facility is literally designed for children so it draws them in immediately. My daughter was excited for her PT appointments because the therapists made the experience fun and playful while challenging her physically to meet goals.“

“If I could give Power of Movement, especially PT Melissa and OT Alex a 10 star review I would. Melissa is the kindest, gentlest person. She genuinely cares about her clients and their families. I took my son to her for PT due to a slight torticollis caused by birth trauma. During our visits she noticed that he was having some reflux issues. Issues I had noticed but that weren’t a huge concern for his Pediatrician. Melissa not only explained how reflux could make my son’s condition worse. She researched formulas that may help and explored how I could get the more expensive formula covered by my insurance. Melissa isn’t only committed to her clients. One day I bought my daughter with me to my son’s PT session and Melissa noticed that my daughter was having difficulty taking off her own shoes. During my son’s session she asked me questions to explore why this might be an issue for my daughter. She never pushed PT or services just genuine care and curiosity. Because of Melissa’s diligence, I became aware of how my daughter sat to play or remove shoes. I mentioned it to her pediatrician at her 2 1/2 year appointment and the pediatrician agreed that my daughter may also benefit from PT. Immediately I called Melissa for an eval. Melissa’s patience, professionalism and knowledge became even more evident when my daughter had a meltdown during her PT evaluation. Melissa reached out to me following the evaluation to discuss her concern that my daughter had a lot of difficulty with even minor transitions and suggested an OT evaluation. I agreed because I had been noticing the same at home. (I will note that I am hyper aware of behavioral concerns as I have been a School Counselor for 18 years.). Melissa worked quickly to get my daughter evaluated with OT Alex. Meeting Alex was a breath of fresh air. Alex was able to put into clinical practice the things I had started doing at home to help Valerie with transitions and she didn’t make me feel like I was a “crazy” mom for having the concerns I have. Both my children are thriving and it’s because of the work of these two amazing women.

Before I conclude this review, I will say a few words about Alex. Her energy and passion are palpable. She LOVES her kids and her knowledge and experience is unmatched. I feel so blessed that my children ended up in the care of both Melissa and Alex. My 2 year old loves to go to her appointments and looks forward to them. Additionally both Melissa and Alex provide resources for me to be able to continue the work at home AND take the time to thoroughly explain what they are doing, why they are doing it and how it will help the kids progress!
