“Duraplex replaced my front entry door. The installation techs and their helpers were excellent. They did a really good job installing the door. The communication was very good and the price was fair. Everyone i spoke to was really nice. I had some minor issues with the door. First issue took them 4 months to fix. Second issue was addressed right away. I took off one star because the hardware they installed on the door didn't match. I had no expectation of it matching perfectly. But it was really bad. Like not even close. The hardware I received was a different shade of antique brass than the picture of the hardware they showed me. Which is not an uncommon problem and not their fault . However, I wish they had called me and said the set was not a good match before they opened the packages and installed it on the door. It could have been returned with no loss to either of us. When the installer came to swap out the hardware the first thing he said to me was “I see what you’re talking about it doesn’t match at all”. So I’m not crazy and it absolutely should have been caught and addressed before the hardware was removed from the packages and installed on the door. Next time I have a door replaced I will get my own hardware so I can see in person that it’s matching before I pay for it because I had to pay extra to have it changed out for hardware that did match. I highly recommend avoiding the antique brass set. Also, they will only install peel and stick numbers on the door. I realize that thats a thing somewhere in the world, but I've actually never seen peel and stick numbers on a door. And now i know why. It looks tacky and cheap. when I signed the contract for the door I was told they would not do peel and stick, they would use the numbers that screw into the door. I did argue against it twice during the installation and both times i lost the argument. Obviously. So here i am with the peel and stick numbers. it just wasn’t what they told me they would do when I signed the contract. Anyways its Something to keep in mind if you don't like the peel and stick numbers either. I got a few quotes and I would have gone with a different company if I knew that that’s what they were going to do up front. Overall, with those issues aside, I'm pretty happy with the service and the door installation. Full disclosure I did edit my review to address contractor responses.“
