“Six years ago, I was stricken with a serious illness that left me completely immobilized. After being on a ventilator for three weeks, I lost all muscle capacity. Even sitting up for a few minutes in a hospital recliner was painful. As a result, I went through four weeks of in-patient PT at a rehab hospital just to gain enough strength to stand up into a walker. Eighteen months of out-patient PT then followed as I recovered from the illness. Then came Covid and, like many of us, I chose isolation out of fear of the virus. The inactivity that resulted from being home resulted in my becoming weaker again.Last July one of my doctors told me I needed to attend physical therapy. He could see I was weak and had issues with walking and climbing stairs. I reluctantly agreed to go to PT, saying that I'd try it for one month to see if it helped. You see, all of the PT I had after my illness never helped me to have a full physical recovery. I invested a lot of time at the previous PT Office and only received mediocre results. I asked my doctor for a referral and he directed me to Movement for Life ('MFL') in Hendersonville. My first appointment at MFL was on 8/25/23 and that day turned out to be a landmark day in my Life. It was the start of my return to full physical strength, full and complete physical independence and the gift of self-confidence I haven't had since the start of the illness six years before. If you really want great results and are willing to put in the work, MFL is where you want to be.Last Friday (4/12/24) I 'graduated' from MFL. My understanding of that term means that I achieved all of my goals. Notice of my graduation was truly bittersweet. On the one hand I know fully well how strong I now am but, on the other hand, I didn't want this remarkable experience to end. For me, every session there was a precious gift. I arrived for each appointment with a smile on my face and left with an even bigger one on my face. Many times I felt as if I could just float out of there. I was just so happy.MFL's facility is great and all of the staff is truly top-notch. Well-educated, supportive, encouraging, positive and even fun!In particular, I need to do a loud shout-out for Alina DeSousa, PT, DPT. Alina made it possible for me to succeed beyond my dreams. Alina coached me and watched me and challenged my abilities in every session while always believing I could do it! Because of Alina and our work together I, once again, have a full life ahead of me. No matter where life takes me I will never forget this blessed journey I've had at Movement for Life and with Alina.I wholeheartedly recommend Movement for Life in Hendersonville. If you begin your physical therapy journey there and you're willing to do the work, you can count on being better, stronger and a happier person on the other side - and, if you're like me, you'll wish it could go on forever.“

“Can’t say enough positive things about Gary and Linda Thiry.. Always goes above and beyond to help in any way they can! I recently injured myself and Gary told me to meet him at the clinic on his day off, treated my injury, educated me about how to care for it and treat it. Always a pleasure being around Gary and Linda both! So nice, funny, generous and genuine people! The clinic is also very nice! So clean and welcoming! Best business around!!!“

“Amazing experience. Marin, Jarred, Erin, Susan, and Jake all did an amazing job from start to finish. They were flexible on timing and pace and put up with terrible dad jokes. Great team.“
