As a sufferer of osteoporosis and arthritis, the benefits have been quite outstanding for me. I have increased my bone density from osteoporosis to osteopenia in my back and to within the normal range in my hips. My arthritic knees have stopped hurting due to the leg muscles I have built up. This is definitely due to my Pilates lessons as I take no medications for these conditions. As an added benefit, my rib cage is more defined, the muscles I have built are long and lean and I am so much more flexible. I started with private lessons intending to move on to group lessons but the benefits I have had from individual attention and tuition have made me want to stick with one on one lessons. This is a warm and friendly studio where every client is made to feel valued and appreciated. I cannot recommend highly enough!“

Her healing space immediately makes me feel at ease and she takes sincere care to listen to the body’s needs. Her techniques are so varied, she can offer a custom treatment for each visit. I especially appreciate her energy healing modalities in combination with a massage. It leaves me feeling nurtured body, mind, and spirit every time. She’s a delightful, thoughtful person with a true gift!“

She makes it easy to follow if you're just starting out and fun moves if you are more advanced. She always has a positive energy and a smile on her face! Her yoga classes are great for all levels. I have been doing yoga for about six years now and she challenges me but also explains the poses in detail. She has helped me improve my practice in the way she explains the proper form and benefits of each pose.“

I hurt my back years ago and she is so gentle with my back for the flexibility and stretching. The class is very calming and relaxing. Well needed body therapy for the day to day hustle in life that we all have.“

“In the immortal words of Bruce Hornsby “Sometimes I lead, sometimes I follow. This time I’ll go where she wants me to go”. I first tried this place at the urging of a friend in 2014. I did around 665 classes here from late 2014-2019, took a nearly 4 year break, and about 29 classes so far this year, so I have a good understanding of this place and hot yoga in general (I did nearly 700 classes of Bikram from 2007-2011).If you are looking for super hot yoga this is it.This class can be great for healing, stretching, developing mental focus/clarity, and your cardio if you push hard enough. You will sweat a lot more in this class compared to some other hot yoga classes, but that doesn’t necessarily translate into a better workout if it’s from the humidity used in the class, not your effort. They use a ton of humidity here, which is what makes it so hot. Intensity is controlled by your effort, not how hot the room is. Read that sentence again. I measured my heart rate here twice recently and it hit 168 in one class and 179 in another. I thankfully have access to some world class doctors (I was leader of an elite tactical response force from 1995-2000 - before ever doing any hot yoga). I was told a couple months ago my cardio/physical age/capability is that of a 24 year old. (My biological age is decades older). Most of you are not going to be able to perform in this class if your heart rate gets in the 150s, and your doctor would probably advise you against it. My point is you need to listen to your body - or you can overdo it in this class.Sometimes the room is overly crowded. This makes it hotter than normal, and also makes it more difficult to use good form in some postures. Many yoga studios will encourage you to practice daily, but doing yoga daily is counter-productive to your time and results. Your muscles must be worked through a variety of exercises, ranges of motion, against resistance, and preferably at least twice a week to properly develop. No yoga class offers that. This is a great compliment to strength training and cardio, but it should not be your only form of exercise if your goal is either weight loss or muscle strength/definition.All that said, the best exercise is exercise you will actually do.“

“I recently started taking classes at Blue Bird Yoga, and I am absolutely in love with this studio! The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, and passionate about yoga. They create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere where students of all levels can feel comfortable and challenged. The studio itself is beautiful, with plenty of natural light and a calming ambiance that makes it easy to relax and focus on your practice. The variety of classes offered is impressive, with something for everyone, from gentle restorative yoga to more challenging vinyasa flows. What I appreciate most about Blue Bird Yoga is their commitment to mindfulness and holistic health. The instructors encourage students to not only focus on physical movement, but also to connect with their breath, cultivate mindfulness, and nourish their bodies and minds.Overall, I highly recommend Blue Bird Yoga to anyone looking for a supportive, inclusive, and transformative yoga experience. Thank you, Blue Bird Yoga, for helping me deepen my practice and find inner peace and balance. I can't wait to come back for more classes!“
