476 Hilldale Dr, Ann Arbor“I hired Haig Construction to assess a leaking chimney which eventually proved to have extensive deterioration, and required a complete rebuild. It was no small task, and although there were a couple of hiccups, Dave and his crew did yeoman's work, including some excellent interior finish work on a custom fireplace mantle. Dave Haig is the consummate professional, thoughtful, and I enjoyed working with him. I would recommend Haig Construction without reservation.“

He was difficult to get started but once they did, the workmanship was excellent and they were speedy. We only were without a kitchen sink and stove for one day because they kept us connected with temporary fixtures the whole 6 weeks. We are still thrilled with our kitchen four years later. Excellent workers, professional, top quality craftsmanship. Highly recommended.“

He is a skilled craftsman and a perfectionist, who likes to handle historic home restoration jobs others don't dare to touch. His workmanship is impeccable and his prices are astonishingly modest, given his skills. His only drawback is that he is booked 6 months to a year in advance! Consider yourself lucky if you can get him to tackle your project.Service: Exterior structural repairs“

748 Starkweather St, Plymouth“We recently completed our new home build with Cowdin Build and Design and couldn’t be happier with the results. Lead Designer Phil had a remarkable understanding of our needs and lifestyle, integrating our vision seamlessly into the design while being mindful of our budget constraints. His attention to detail was impeccable, ensuring that our home truly reflects our preferences, needs, and lifestyle.
Throughout the build phase, Phil continued to collaborate with us, and his keen eye for detail resulted in a home that beautifully combines aesthetics with functionality. Jon and the build team were equally dedicated, caring about every detail and ensuring both construction quality and our happiness. We are delighted with how our living spaces perfectly align with our lifestyle.
We highly recommend Cowdin Build and Design to anyone seeking a personalized and reliable home-building experience. Our completed project has exceeded our expectations, and we are thrilled with our new home.“

She helped me discover options that blended the old with the new, and she was always very patient and accommodating in meetings to discuss materials and design. I am so excited to post before and after photos when we are finished with the install :)“

190 E Main St, Northville“I had an opportuity to compare Long's services and pricing with a small father and sons company in Livonia. I had a slow kitchen sink drain and Long's had a wait list. The Livonia company used a small snake that barely had enough power to clear an obstruction at 22 feet out. The cost was $225. The drain didn't stay cleared. I booked with Longs and waited several days. Long's snake is so big it has its own dolly. The drain cleared at 22 feet and then for good measure, the tech took the snake out to 75 feet. I paid $185. So Long's was more efficient, better equipped and cheaper.“

This employees name is Chad, and he is a wonderful person, and an excellent plumber. Chad is clean, professional, and shows up on time!! Chad is the plumber you want in your home. You don’t have to worry about him. He’s not a rough around the edges scary looking man. Chad gets the job done on the first visit, and doesn’t make rude comments if you tried to fix a plumbing problem, and failed. I want to once again thank Chad for fixing my toilet on May 29, 2025, and for his outstanding suggestion on how to secure my new boat dock steps.“

227 Sheldon Rd, Plymouth“After meeting with several potential contractors, we chose Stella Contracting for the renovation of our kitchen (extensive work down to the studs that included changing its footprint, resizing a window, and adding a doorwall to the adjacent dining room) and bedrooms. At the end of the day, we are confident that no one could have done a better job than Jeff Stella, Conner Stella, Kelly Schlick and their sub-contractors. The estimate was thorough with a competitive price, and included site visits from all of the principal sub-contractors before it was finalized. Jeff and Kelly were patient and thoughtful during the design and planning stage, and once the work began Conner took the reigns for the remainder of the project with daily communication and a regular on-site presence. Every single phone call or text with any of the Stella team was promptly returned or answered. I will sum up our experience by saying this: Stella Contracting really cares about the quality of the work and getting each element of the job done right—and going further, you could tell that every one of their sub-contractors cared as well (carpentry, electrical, flooring, drywall and plaster, tile, brick mason, and more). Clearly, Stella has carefully developed a cadre of tradespeople over time that they draw from and rely upon to perform any and all aspect of their projects. This company is outstanding.“

474 Princess Dr, Canton“I’m so glad I went with them, if I could give them a 12 out of 10 (or 7 out of 5) rating I would. You could take a chance with someone else, praying and hoping they do a good job, but why take that chance and possibly regret it? They did my entire exterior home last summer 2024 and I wanted to give it a year to see how it all held up or find any flaws, so here is my review. My home is rather large 2.5 story with multiple high gables and trim. No way I can climb up there that high anymore. They also performed multiple areas of wood repairs including 2 protruding bay window sections and the quality of the wood restoration was also perfect. I have to say I’m 200% satisfied. The quality of the paint and application was phenomenal. They taped up “everything” perfectly, no over-spray, everything has adhered wonderfully, no problems whatsoever. They worked like a machine. I spoke a couple times with the owners in person. The day after they came out for a final inspection with me and I have to say they did a perfect job.
They were referred to me by multiple neighbors that had them paint their homes and everyone has also been happy. I will be using them to handle some interior painting as well in the very near future.“

2043 Champagne Dr, Ann Arbor“I hired Ann Arbor Handy (Pete Petkov) for a full bathroom gut renovation. His craftsmanship is outstanding — the tiling looks like art and the space is completely transformed. He’s a true artisan.
We hit a few surprises along the way that required extra work, and he handled them with skill and professionalism (though of course at additional cost). He charges at the higher end, but the outstanding quality of his work is worth it.
A couple of notes for future clients:
• Carefully review his itemized estimates — he will do exactly what’s written.
• I had a few issues with the subcontractors he used (plumbing and tub reglazing), so consider sourcing your own if needed.
Overall, the result is phenomenal. If you want top-notch quality and are willing to invest in it, I highly recommend him.“

2727 E Michigan Ave, Ypsilanti“*Updated review: Rapid roofing reached out and everyone was super kind about finding a resolution. Ended up getting a full replacement on the skylights and as the name implies they were very quick to do so. Crew works fast and looks to be quality work so far. Will update if the skylights leak.
Had my roof replaced 2 years ago along with the flashing for 6 skylights. Unfortunately since the skylights are so old they had to modify the flashing to make it fit. All 6 skylights developed leaks over time and while the company was kind enough to send someone out and temporarily fix with silicone I did not feel this would work long term so talked to Rapid Roofing about getting a full replacement done. They gave me a great price on a full replacement and so far so good!
The leaks I'll take partial blame for. I should have gone with a full replacement off the bat but simply replacing the flashing was one of the options they gave me and it seemed like a good middle ground. I know nothing of roofing so the sales rep probably should have not offered it or recommended a full replacement instead.
Either way, I'm satisfied with the quality and speed of the work and couldn't ask for more. The workers were all super friendly and worked hard.“
“I've personally had many renovations, remodels and lots of other smaller jobs done by Done Rite. By far the best contractor to work with within the city of Ann Arbor specifically. They know the city requirements better than anyone else and they provide high quality work and are very easy to work with!“

“Tessera handled a kitchen and bathroom remodel with a small addition that transformed the downstairs of our house. Jimmy was responsive, never missing a meeting, and answering emails and texts right away. He was up front about timeline and cost. He is a great problem-solver. His team and subcontractors were best in class, and just great guys to be and have around. I highly recommend Tessera and wouldn't hesitate to work with them again.“
