144 Lyon Blvd, South Lyon“Paul remodeled our master bathroom for us back in December and now we’re 3 months in and it’s our favorite room in our house.
We are so happy we went with Paul; he was recommended by a family member after he did a great job on their master bathroom.
Paul was able to take our small (89” x 4’) and unusable bathroom into a large (120” x4’) bathroom that truly feels like the master bath.
He was able to move the toilet for us to a different wall, raise the ceiling, remove a closet to extend the shower, widen our entry door, and install a floating vanity.
We’re so happy with Paul’s work and recommend to others! We’re planning on using him for our second bathroom in the future.“

There were a few bumps along the path, but far fewer than have had with other homes and the issues were quickly resolved to our satisfaction. Darlene, Carol, Mike, John and the rest of the staff were outstanding! I would highly recommend!“

“If you’re considering a major exterior renovation, I cannot recommend John McCarter Construction highly enough.
They recently completed a major project on our nearly 100-year-old home that included a new roof, siding, gutters, front door, and a custom-built portico. The transformation has been remarkable. It truly looks like a new house. In fact, we regularly have neighbors stop to ask who did the work and tell us how beautiful everything looks.
What stood out from the very beginning was how organized and professional the entire process was. From the initial sales meetings to project management to the crews doing the work, everything was well communicated, methodical, and exactly as promised. They did what they said they would do, when they said they would do it. There were no surprises, no wondering whether people would show up, and no excuses.
Because our home is almost 100 years old, the project came with its share of unexpected discoveries. Once the old siding was removed, they found areas of rotted wood and structural issues where supports had not been properly installed over the years. We also discovered that there was very little insulation in many parts of the house. Every issue was explained clearly, along with the options for addressing it. Rather than treating these discoveries as opportunities to drive up the cost, they were incredibly fair and reasonable with the pricing. They replaced a significant amount of rotted wood, corrected structural issues, and essentially insulated the entire house as they went. The value they provided through that additional work was tremendous.
I especially want to recognize John, our project manager. He was exceptional. On what felt like a daily basis, he checked in to explain what work would be happening, kept us updated on progress, and immediately addressed any questions or concerns we had. His communication was outstanding, and he made what could have been a stressful project feel very manageable.
Keith and the siding crew did outstanding work as well. I wish I could remember everyone’s names because every single person we interacted with was terrific. The door installers were excellent, the painter who finished the front door did an exceptional job, and every crew member we encountered was courteous, professional, respectful of our property, and clearly took pride in their work. They worked hard, worked efficiently, cleaned up after themselves, and paid close attention to detail.
The craftsmanship throughout the project was exceptional. The portico is beautiful, the siding work is flawless, and the new front door looks less like a door and more like a stunning piece of furniture.
Most importantly, the entire team was a pleasure to have around. We always felt comfortable having them at our home because they were genuinely nice people who treated both us and our property with respect.
This was a large and complicated project on a nearly century-old home, and John McCarter Construction exceeded our expectations at every turn. I would recommend them without hesitation to family, friends, or anyone looking for a contractor who delivers outstanding workmanship, excellent communication, fairness, and professionalism.“
