“I can't believe this just popped in my head today. Dec. 9th 2017 my father passed away at home and my uncle called this funeral home. I couldn't believe how warm, sympathetic and kind the gentleman were who came to take my Dad away from us. Throughout the entire process the entire staff was incredibly understanding and supportive to my mother, grandmother and my aunt, everyone really. I just couldn't recommend this establishment more. “I do not have enough good things to say about Simple Funerals and the owner, Tom.I recently experienced the life-changing loss of my loving mom.The process of finding a funeral director felt extremely overwhelming. I feel very fortunate that we found Tom after visiting a couple of the major funeral homes in our area.The necessary conversations for funeral arrangements after a beloved family member has passed can feel like an uncomfortable and daunting experience as you’re navigating through the steps in a state of disbelief and sorrow. We were given a list of tasks, I was grateful because I was ill prepared for this but they made it a smooth process. “Went to the funeral of a co worker today (Angelo Williams) and was appalled by the lack of empathy by the person officiating the funeral. He stated before people were allowed to come up to make remarks that there was another funeral afterwards so basically, hurry up. The funeral’s should be spaced apart so that that type of comment wouldn’t be needed. That was the most tacky and unnecessary remark you could make before a grieving family. I’m sure they paid thousands of dollars to have time to listen to others share their love for their loved one. Definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.Edit: Mr. Pye did contact me which I sincerely appreciate.“
“I wanted to take a moment to express my great appreciation to David Techner and the rest of his staff at Ira Kaufman’s Chapel. When my stepfather passed away in Arizona some years ago, we had no idea what to do or where to start the process of getting him back to Detroit. It just took one call to David and everything else fell in to place. David was extremely diplomatic, sensitive and understanding. He helped guide us through the process of writing the obituary, connecting us with hospice and helping us make decisions without offending or leaving anyone out. There’s a certain level of tact that is required when a family has children, stepchildren, children through marriage and so on.
