“Long overdue +++++ review for A and R Carpet Barn on Pembina Highway. We've had two very positive experiences with them in 2023. The first was just some straight forward industrial type carpet for stairs going to a developed attic space on the 3rd floor of our house. Nothing fancy required but we found a fine looking end of a roll at A and R at a very reasonable price. Marty did an outstanding installation. A few months later we were looking to replace carpet on the main stairs to the 2nd floor. Had found a beautiful carpet at a different retailer in Winnipeg. But the price quote with installation was absurd. Dropped into A and R and found the exact same carpet at a significantly more manageable price. While making the purchase, we lined up an installer dude who happened to be at A and R. Our first experience with Marty was so positive, we just assumed anyone associated with the store would do quality work. Clue to get someone else should have been when buddy lost the measurements for stairs and had to return to do it a 2nd time. Also, asked for payment in cash. Partner and I are both working, super busy, so just rolled with it. But that was a mistake as the install was an insult. Carpet was loose, staples hanging out. Clown returned to attempt a fix which was just more of the same garbage work. Left the house telling us it's our problem, no guarantee on capet install he said. Though I recall "Guarantee" being somewhere in the name of his business. Anyway, the most important part of the story is that Hugh at A and R on Pembina made everything right. In fact, once Marty came by and confirmed the installation was garbage, Hugh's exact words over the phone were "I'm going to make this right". And he did. There was no need to call and hassle about when it would take place. Hugh gave us an approximate timeline for the re-install. Right around that date, Marty came by, ripped out the poorly installed carpet, replaced with brand new carpet. His work is meticulous and neat as a pin. All in all, a exceptionally positive experience. Highly recommend taking your business to A and R Carpet Barn on Pembina Highway.“

He came on time and completed the work in less than 8 hours, not even stopping for lunch! Amazing worker! He even carried the remnant carpet down to the basement for me - three massive heavy rolls! And he vacuumed everything so it looks awesome. Highly recommend Curtis Carpets!!“
