26 Massachusetts Ave, Arlington“Our 12 year old son dropped in for training on Thursday May 15 and Sunday May 18th. He has dropped in to train several times at the facility and this time was as all others. The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable, the training partners were gracious and challenging, and the facility was clean and well kept. Whenever we visit the area, our son will avail himself of the opportunity to get some mat time in a friendly space.“

127 W Central St, Natick“????? I originally signed my 5-year-old daughter up for classes at Korea Finest Taekwondo Academy (“KFTA”), and after just three weeks of watching her thrive, I decided to join the Black Belt Plus Program myself — and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! This academy truly lives up to its name. The training has been amazing for both my mind and body, and I especially love the self-defense classes — they’ve become my absolute favorite. I feel stronger, more confident, happier, and safer every day. One of the best parts of coming daily is getting to connect with so many wonderful people — we’ve built friendships that go beyond the academy. We’ve been coming every single day because the environment is just that motivating. The instructors are patient, encouraging, and exceptionally good with kids. Thanks to them, my 5-year-old is always excited to attend class — no complaints, just joy! She’s proud to put on her Taekwondo uniform and always looks forward to training. It’s also deeply inspiring to see students of all ages, including elders, working hard toward their black belts. Some of my senior classmates followed Master Yang from a previous location and are happy to drive the extra miles just to continue training with him. He truly has a gift for teaching. In fact, some of my daughter’s classmates only want to train with him — and their parents are willing to drive 30–45 minutes for his classes! I even referred a good friend from Malden who now drives over an hour to train here with me. After just one month, she’s completely hooked and already considering the Black Belt Plus Program herself. If you're looking for a Taekwondo school that genuinely cares, challenges you to grow, and feel like a second home, ai highly recommend KFTA. You won't regret it!“

The environment is incredibly supportive, and the fellow students were equally encouraging and friendly. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced practitioner, NESF BJJ is the perfect place to train. Highly recommended!“

102 Brookline Ave, Boston“I joined the Jae Hun Kim Taekwon-do Institute's Boston location approximately six months ago, entering as a novice with no prior experience in taekwondo or any martial arts. Despite not being in the younger age demographic, I was nervous about starting this journey, especially uncertain of my capabilities. However, I can confidently say that this decision has proven to be one of the most rewarding of my life.I have had the privilege and honor of being taught by Master Kim and received unparalleled instructions from him. I am always amazed by Master Kim's remarkable ability to recall every student's name and closely monitor individual progress, always giving a sense of personalized attention, even amidst a diverse class of varying belt levels. Throughout the past six months, I have felt nurtured, mentored, motivated, and have learned five forms and many taekwondo skills under Master Kim's guidance. Not to mention getting a great workout! But this is not all. Here are other reasons why this school stands out:1. The school accommodates flexible class schedules for both students and professionals with a class timetable designed to suit diverse schedules.2. The school fosters a friendly and uplifting culture, where every member feels part of a supportive family. Both my peers and Master Kim consistently inspire me to strive for excellence and continual improvement.3. The school offers sparring classes. Despite initial reservations, participating in sparring sessions has enriched my experience and contributed significantly to my development as a martial artist.4. The school offers classes on Zoom!In summary, my journey at Jae Hun Kim Taekwon-do Institute has exceeded all expectations, thanks to the exceptional instruction, supportive community, and diverse learning opportunities offered by this esteemed institution.“

36 Spinelli Pl, Cambridge“Sensei Bobby and his team are outstanding. Our four year old son has been going to the dragon class for a year, and it’s made such a difference for his self confidence, ability to focus, and patience. We were initially unsure how a 3 year old could pay attention in a martial arts class, but we were astounded at how much kids can do. Sensei Bobbi has such a gift for teaching, and it’s so apparent how much joy he gets from it. He makes martial arts fun and engaging while also instilling discipline and respect for the sport. Kids walk out high fiving and hugging each other. It’s the highlight of my week as a parent watching the kids practice. What we love about the class is also in the structure. Sensei Bobby has the older kids demonstrate and serve as role models for the younger kids. He also brings a lot of his junior instructors to help, which means kids are constantly learning and teaching each other. Our son smiles every time he talks about martial arts all because of how amazing AMAC is. We can’t recommend it enough!“

66 Winchester St, Newton Highlands“Calvin Chin's Martial Arts Academy came to my company to help celebrate the Lunar New Year with their lion dance. We filled three floors of lobby space with our employees watching the performance and excitedly engaging with the lion. The way the lion interacted with the audience together with the music from the beating drums created such a fun and memorable experience for our employees. Thank you!“
“New Generations has been a constant positive force in my life since I joined over 10 years ago. My classes with Shihan Lemay have helped me learn discipline, goal setting and the intricate martial art of Kempo Karate. I wouldn’t trade my time in her classes for anything!“

125 Walnut St, Watertown“I'm constantly looking forward to my next class at Wu Dao. Shifu Lindsay Lambert is an excellent teacher with a broad range of martial arts expertise -- she often says that good Tai Chi is relevant to everything, mentioning principles of Choy Lay Fut, Sanda, Shuai Jiao, and other arts. The Tai Chi class environment is friendly and motivating, while also cultivating depth and seriousness when it comes to technique. It feels like the kind of training I want to be doing for a long time. I started attending not long after a surgery, and Shifu Lindsay checked in with me to make sure the training and conditioning was going well and feeling doable as I recovered. Every week I feel more and more natural in the foundational Tai Chi I'm learning, and Qigong and conditioning exercises have been perfect for getting mobile and flexible again after a period of inactivity. Soon I hope to start training in the Kung Fu classes as well. This place is the real deal!“
“Steve Nugents karate Institute has 2 main karate schools or called "dojos", this one in Winchester and the main one on Cambridge Street in Burlington, Mass. They structure their programs around safety and awareness, overall respect, and good basic karate self defense skills. Their instructors led by Grandmaster Nugent are super trained, even in first aid and cpr, which I thought was excellent. They are super passionate and attentive toward their student and actually are quite caring, which I have never found in my searching for quality karate schools. Definitely check them out... I am very impressed !“

1739 Centre St, West Roxbury“I have been going here for a couple of years and I love it. I was initially set to do a trial class on my own but I brought my fiance with me and he took to it as well. Having a chance to learn martial arts skills not only on my own but with my partner has not only improved both of our fitness and discipline, but it has made our connection better as well. If you are looking for a good martial arts school to go to, you should definitely go here!“

2322 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge“Great atmosphere for adults, children and families. High level senior instructors who care about the art and passing it on properly.“
“I researched karate dojos around the area for my son and enrolled him in the trial program at Keefe’s Martial Arts to see if he will like karate. He loved it. Sensei John does a wonderful job with the kids, he holds their attention in a participative, energetic, and fun way. Over time I saw my son - and the other kids too, transform. They gained self-control, skill, and confidence. During Covid, I highly appreciated that Sensei John provided online classes as well as outdoors sessions. It was safe, no one quit, and no one got sick. The kids learned to strive for normalcy when nothing else was normal. Kids build character at KMA.“

1 Westinghouse Plaza Building A Suite A13, Boston“So happy we found One Step Beyond! My boys (6 and 9) tried soccer, baseball, flag football, but nothing “stuck” until we discovered karate back in March 2021. Fast forward to two classes a week (soon to be 4 ?), 2 belt tests and now a competition team/weapons (all dull, nothing sharp here), my boys couldn’t be happier. Sensei Marie and Sensei Erin are wonderful with the kids and it’s a wide range of all ages and backgrounds. I can honestly say that karate has also taught my boys discipline, fitness, patience and self esteem. I highly recommend One Step Beyond!“

Nathan, the head instructor and owner, has a real skill for teaching and engaging kids that can lose focus. The rates are very reasonable to. He offeres a free introductory lesson to try out. My son is having a super time and learning the art so quickly directly because of Nathans teaching.“

161 Harvard Ave #4e, Boston“I have been training at Boston Martial Arts for more than 10 years. After trying a number of different martial arts and schools, I was thrilled to find a dojo that is inclusive and diverse, offers a fun and cooperative learning environment, and teaches a really engaging and interesting art. After having had a bad experience at another dojo I realized how important it is to have a teacher that I deeply respect and whom I could see myself learning from for a very long time, and Mr. Mark Davis is that for me.I trained here throughout my grad school years and return to train whenever I can even though I no longer live in the area because the school and the art have beclme an important part of my life.Highly recommend.“
