“I was looking to do some home remodeling and I was recommended by a friend in the New Orleans construction world to Quillen Construction and specifically to one of their project managers, Davis Solis.

Davis was extremely helpful with regards to planning, budgeting, and scheduling our project. He masterfully scheduled his crews around our busy work schedules and was accommodating to every need and several changes we made on the fly. Quillen’s crews were top notch. Their floor crew tore up old tile, carpeting, and laminate flooring, resurfaced and leveled several low spots in our foundation, and relayed new floors throughout the house within a week. They did this all while taking meticulous care for our furniture and other possessions. The floor crew were all professionals and very pleasant fellows to deal with. They cleaned up after the job, removed all trash and debris and left us extremely satisfied with our new floors.

Quillen also tore out our old kitchen backsplash, replaced Sheetrock, and replaced it with a new, more modern looking backsplash. This took a half day of demo and prep work and a half day of laying tile. Like Davis’ floor crew, the tile crew were consummate professionals and left us very happy with an updated and refreshed look for the kitchen.

Finally, after flooring was laid, we had a wall-length entertainment system designed and built by Quillen and one of their carpenters, Brandon. I can’t say enough good things about how pleased we were with how this turned out. Our empty office was transformed into a professional looking study complete with storage, book shelves, and a spot to kick back and watch a game all with a cozy wireless backlight system. I’m sure you’ll be able to see some photos on Quillen’s site of the final result, but Davis and Brandon exceeded our expectations of what we were envisioning for this part of the project. We couldn’t be happier.

If you are in the market for renovations and want to make sure you hire professionals that will make you vision come true, will do high quality work, and are pleasant to deal with I’d give my highest recommendation to seek out Davis and his team at Quillen.“

I called Michel's for a second opinion after being lied to (told that there was cast iron plumbing, when I was certain there was not) by Roto-Rooters and quoted $14K for necessary plumbing repairs. Holly from Michel's spent at least 20 minutes on the phone with me answering questions and helping me understand the potential plumbing problems. She quoted me $6,000 for the same scope of work, but advised getting an independent video inspection. The video inspection revealed that the work needed was substantially less than Roto-Rooters claimed (10 feet of pipe replaced as opposed to 35 feet), and they were able to schedule me for under the slab repairs the next day. They also referred me to an excellent water mitigation company and fully explained the process and work being done. I will never use another plumber in New Orleans ever again and will send all friends and family here.“
