“Dr. John Trahan was incredibly personable and knowledgeable on treatment options for both Bear and Zaria. He gave helpful advice regarding any questions we possessed that related to the care of our dogs. Absolutely painless experience.
I chose this veterinary hospital due to the high reviews and now I can see why their praises are being sung. This location is also available to contact through text messaging (which is new to me when interacting with a business or facility) but proved to be beneficial due to the easy accessibility and timely replies. River Road Veterinary Hospital also has payment plans that benefit their customers with perks.
I will definitely be coming back here again and I would recommend others to do so as well. Dr. Trahan is a wonderful vet and I trust him just on the first visit. I cannot wait to work with him in the future regarding care for my dogs.“

“Nola was ill and not herself. When I called trying to see a Dr, the were able to get her in very quickly. The entire staff was amazing as usual! And Dr Vennen was his normal awesome self! He really took his time to explain everything perfectly. You can really tell from top to bottom, that everyone there really does care about your four legged family member. “We have 6 dogs that Lake cares for and we wouldn't dream of sending them anywhere else. We got married in May 2014 and each of us had 3 rescues that were now all part of one big family. They help us on so many levels and we are grateful for the entire staff. In 2013 I lost my dog Saban to old age. We had him for 12 years and he was 15 yrs old. Lake animal help me through the grief process and checked up on me for weeks after we had to put him down. They wrapped him up in his own blankets and placed him in a box my son built so we could bring him to our farm in Mississippi and bury him. “My experience at this vet was wonderful. The staff was awesome. The doctor and his assistant was awesome ? they took their time explaining everything which I was at ease . I came in as a walk-in with my dog having his cyst on his back. When Doctor and assistant getting ready to drain the cyst it decides to squirt back at us LOL ? ??

“First time customer and we will definitely be back! My Sim is a 7 year old special needs Shih Tzu. He's a rescue who has been groomed under sedation since he was rescued and he's also blind. After years of sedated grooms that were starting to affect him we reached out to see if they were willing to try grooming him without sedation (he was sedated due to his reactions when they groomed certain areas). They said they would give it try and they were successful! They have tricks to deal with little quirks and the treats I brought with him didn't hurt the situation. I wouldn't hesitate to bring a special needs or older animal to them for grooming as they took great care in grooming my dog that was previously classified as being too reactive to be groomed while awake. He was very happy when I picked him up and even had a cute little bandana on.“
