“I am thrilled that I visited Sabates Eye Center to get a second opinion after what I thought was a horribly bad diagnosis at KC Eye Clinic where I was told my night vision was worse than 20/100 even when wearing my corrective lenses. With that diagnosis, the ophthalmologist told me it was literally illegal for me to drive at night and tried to get me to commit to immediate cataract surgery.

Since I had not noticed any appreciable change in my night vision and felt as though I was being hustled, I sought a second opinion. However, I must admit, I didn't sleep well for several weeks while I waited to see Dr. Camejo.

Literally everyone I dealt with in setting up the appointment and securing my records from KC Eye Clinic knowledgeable, efficient and as nice as they could be. Elizabeth (Beth), who was the assisting nurse sensed my concerns and took a significant amount of time to carefully evaluate my vision using a variety of tests prior to Dr. Camejo joining us.

Prior to my appointment, Beth had reviewed my charts and referenced them numerous times during her evaluations. Beth is extremely knowledgeable, very compassionate and during our conversations, commented several times how much she loves what she does and working for Sabates Eye Center. I can't begin to tell you how much that meant to me.

Shortly after Beth completed her evaluations, we were joined by Dr. Camejo. After a battery of tests and examinations, he concluded my night vision is very similar to my daytime vision, which had worsened slightly since my last examination to 20/25. He advised me my vision was perfectly fine for night driving and that while I have mild cataracts, there was no need for surgery at this time. Dr. Camejo took the time to explain everything clearly and discuss the state of my macular degeneration. He also sent me home with a simple chart I can use to monitor it for any progression.

The bottom line is I'm glad I trusted my instincts and I'm absolutely thrilled by the treatment I received throughout my experience with Sabates Eye Center.“
