Having all your eye care in one building is a good thing.Years ago, our independant optometrist/ophthalmologist joined Sabates, and our family have been a patients ever since. From general exams to complicated surgery, they have covered several generations of our family for many years now. They are fairly efficient at handling patients, but not very accurate as to the scheduled time for appointments. Expect a little bit of a wait.Otherwise, they are friendly and thorough. You can trust your eyes will be well cared for. Note: The eyeglass retailer in the lobby is not Sabates, and I recommend finding a different place to take your prescription.
I have been going to Sabates Eye Centers for 18 years. I started out at the Independence office. They were great. They caused me to keep using them. I have been to the Plaza office and the Leawood office. I once had a torn retina, went in to get checked and they scheduled me for surgery the next day. Dr Poulose was the surgeon who saved my eye and has been taking care of me ever since. He is wonderful. He explains things to your understanding and he is so caring. You won't go wrong with Sabates no matter which office you visit.
Dr. Lyon at Sabates eye center off of Nall Ave in Kansas, is awesome! They are really busy there, but I was suddenly experiencing light flashes/floaters in my eye, and they got me right in same day, to see dr Lyon. He looked in my eyes and let me know that it’s just the jelly substance behind my eye leaking out a little. This happens with age…one more thing that happens with age! I was worried and now I can rest easy.
