“Okay, so it's been like 2 months since I came in for a haircut by Susan and I am still in love with the result. I get up every morning, look in the mirror and think, wow I look fabulous 🤩
Susan was able to do what so many hair stylists before her couldn't. I have thick, coarse, frizzy hair. The last stylist I saw advised me against face framing layers -which is what I really wanted. So I decided it was time to look for a new stylist. After some research, I found the Mae Salon and was drawn to Susan's work. I first came in for a consultation to make sure she'd be a great fit. She assured me that the look I wanted was possible, it's just that some stylists unfortunately don't know asian hair very well and all that it is capable of. When I came in for a haircut, Susan gave me the face framing layers that I wanted and took a lot of the heaviness out from the back of my head without diminishing volume or giving me an uneven, choppy look. And I've never seen anyone cut hair the way she does, so confidently and with so much joy! What's more, she explained the needs of coarse hair to me in a way that made me feel confident when shopping for hair care products to meet my needs. So now two months later, I not only have a great new haircut, I now have a new and low maintenance hair care routine that incorporates hair products that smooth and hydrate my hair without damaging it. Needless to say, I am so happy that I found Susan and will definitely be returning for my maintenance cuts.“

“I was booked for 12:45 and got there at 12:45 because I respect everyone’s time. However the stylist kept leaving me for up to 10 minutes at a time to work on another client. It took over an hour (almost 90 min) to do a wash, blow and curl. I have been to this salon three other times and was done within 45 min for the same service. When I confronted the stylist toward the end of my appt she said I only made my appt yesterday. What does that even mean ? If they do not have time they should not be taking the appt. I felt very disrespected. This was very unprofessional which I didn’t expect from this salon. No one apologized to me or offered any kind of resolution to this situation. I am only giving them 2 stars because the times I work with Marissa I was always very happy. So if you have to go here then go to Marissa.

Edit- someone reached out from the salon and apologized on this matter. They are working on making this better. I have changed my review to 4 stars because I did not have any issues on my three previous visits with Marissa.“

“Autumn totally blew my mind. Very pleasant to work with. First time doing vivid hair color and haven't dyed my hair in since 2017. Autumn took great care of my hair taking me from a dull brunette to a beautiful vivid with fall color inspiration. I did not have to wait very long before I was in the chair. Was offered water to drink during appointment. Conversation was just the right amount. Not to much but not to little either which is nice for this introvert. Very gentle with hair when brushing.

The salon its self is very clean with an open lay out in a U shape. All the girls were very friendly.“

“I saw Megan K., and she did an amazing job cutting my long, straight, fine (type 1a) hair. It has more volume and definition than it ever has, while keeping the length and a nice straight line at the bottom. I rely on the cut entirely, air drying, no product, so a good cut is worth a lot to me, and she delivered.“

I will be back every 3 months for my regular trims. We did a lot today, but my future locks will be grateful for the few inches we got rid of today.
