“Bucky, our 1 yr old male standard poodle has been coming to Downers Grove Training & Grooming since he was about 4.5 months old. I called them when he was about 3 months old because I was desperate to learn how to train him not to nip, help us teach him to be good dog to be around other people/kids/dogs, and to get his excess energy expended.As soon as Bucky was fully vaccinated, he was able to start the puppy program. The change was incredible! In just a couple of months, I had a dog that I enjoyed being around, rather than being chewed on incessantly. My dog came home tired, was much more fun to be around, and obedient on days he did not attend “school”, because he had socialization and fun exercise when at training.All the trainers are wonderful, but my dog especially loves seeing Areli and Josh. They have been wonderful in teaching my husband and I how to enforce the training at home as well. They are always happy to answer questions when my pup moves on to a different “phase” and new behaviors emerge that I need help with. Every employee there is amazing…friendly and helpful, and I feel at ease knowing that I am leaving my dog with people that love him and are happy to see him.Bucky finished the puppy program, then did the Alumni program, and now goes a few days a week to daycare. I never thought I would be someone who sends my dog to daycare, but he loves going so much! Tail wagging as soon as we get to the parking lot, and a tired and happy pup when I pick him up.I am so happy to have found Downers Grove Training…my pup is mentally and physically stimulated and I think it makes him a better dog. Most people can’t believe he just turned a year old because of how calm and well behaved he is, and I credit his trainers for helping teach him good behavior and the daycare for giving him a good outlet for his energies so he is calm when it is appropriate. We will continue to bring Bucky to daycare and recommend it to anyone considering it :)“

“The groomers here do an excellent job cutting my dogs nails. I just got a new dog and she doesn’t like people touching her paws very much but Bubbles and brushes did an excellent job working with her. I also bring my 8 year old lab to get his nails clip and no issues. It’s affordable and they do a fantastic job clipping my dogs nails. We are always bringing our dogs here for their nails.“

“Owners and employees were super helpful! I just moved to the area and came in looking for dog food. They were helpful with finding something right for my dog while being conscious of my budget and ended up getting something healthier for him than what I was feeding while also paying less. They also had a ton of home cooked treats that my dog loved.Ended up getting my dogs nails trimmed as well. They were very accommodating with my dog who HATES having his paws touched, and the whole process was very quick and easy.I will definitely be a regular here going forward for anything my pets need in the future! They took the time to make sure I had what I needed and answered any questions I had. Overall great experience!“

“I was nervous about taking my doodle puppy to get professionally groomed because I've only groomed her myself and I'd heard horror stories about how bad groomings have affected dogs. So it was important to me to find a groomer that was patient and gentle with her. Dana was wonderful. Not only was my puppy adorable when I picked her up but she seemed to have been treated very well. You just get the sense that Dana really cares about the dogs she's grooming and looking after. And she was very patient with me and took the time to explain when I had questions about matting/brushing. I will be coming back to her for future grooms.“

“First of all BRING YOUR OWN TOWELS AND SOAP. Yes they provide soap but I feel like it’s ok. I used my own. The fact they open til 10pm really does work out for me as I have an aggressive dog. No staff works there. $15 for $15 and there’s an option to go longer if needed. They are clean in there and make sure you clean your mess people be courteous.“

I found the three or four items I needed here really quickly, and when I got to the line at the front of the store, one staff member notice the line was getting long and immediately dropped what she was doing to open a new register and help folks in line. They were really nice here. I would definitely come back to this location.“
