“I've been coming to see Dr Chen for about 10 years now. He is excellent! When I first came to see him, he asked key questions, and he resolved the ongoing issue with the glasses that were sold to me from different eye glass companies...I kept getting headaches. As it turned out, I can't use the fit all glasses that are massed produced. I need specific tailored glasses that help me see better without giving me headaches. And the eye wear selection is phenomenal...totally love to get new glasses every two years. I get so many compliments - on all the glasses I've purchased to date. I am looking forward to my next exam in a few months.I feel so well taken care of each time I stop by for my annual exam. This practice is truly the best of the best in town, and I don't mind the long drive. They are worth it - 100%“

The store was very busy with customers and yet he took his time in making sure all my questions were answered and I never felt rushed. “I am so happy to have found this place. A previous wearer of rigid gas permeable lenses, which are terrible because they are just way too small, led me to seek scleral lenses. Wow, what a difference these make. After a very short period of time you don't even feel them. Warning. You might forget they're in. Sooo comfortable. I absolutely love them. “I mentioned my designer sunglasses in my review 2 months ago--I brought them in and asked Brian if he could tighten them up for me because I love them so much. He said sure! When he was doing that, I said "I don't even remember where I got those!" He said "From me!" He looked back in his records and has such meticulous notes that he then was actually able to order my newest prescription for that exact size so I can mail in my sunglasses from Milwaukee, where I'm now working and pick them up at my convenience. and have him install the lenses in my decade-old frames. I don't care if they're older--They're timeless and I look like Jackie-O in them. I think. Anyway, with that we took my gorgeous new tiger frames that were going to be sunglasses and are making new every-day frames for me since my golden retriever sat on my last ones. I love Brian's service at Doyle Opticians of Deerfield. The North Shore is full of very discriminating buyers and I came back all the way from my new home in Oregon to torture Brian with my pickiness. He was just happy to see me!When I get current license plates I'm coming back, Brian!“

“Comparing Vision Works to Walmart: Summary: Walmart is MUCH cheaper for the same quality of daily contacts, much better customer service as well. Not sure what Vision Works is doing wrong, but they seem kinda money hungry to me. How I decided this: I used to order contacts at Vision Works in Gurnee Mills, but I had forgotten to get a new prescription done with them before leaving for college. The town my college is in does not have a Vision Works, so I decided to get it done at the Walmart Vision Center. Little did I know that was a good decision. I got the prescription done and got the free trial contacts, but never got around to ordering contacts. When I got back home in Gurnee, I tried to fax over my prescription to Vision Works and the woman that was helping me at VW was a little rude and hard to approach, but the lady on the phone doing the fax was very helpful. When the prescription went through, I was told that I could not order contacts from VW because the brand I had gotten at Walmart was not carried there. This did not really make sense to me because I thought it was only the prescription they needed, not the brand. So, I decided to go over to the Walmart in Gurnee to order from them, and the contacts not only came in 4 days, they cost $51 cheaper for the same 90 day daily contacts I would've gotten at VW. VW contacts usually come in after a week and a half or so. Wearing the contacts daily, I have not noticed any difference from the brand I used to get at VW. Now my whole family is switching over from VW to Walmart. Plus, the staff at both my college town and Gurnee were nothing but nice to me. At Walmart I get called Miss (insert last name), while at Vision Works they act like they don't even remember me. Overall great experience.“
