Near North Animal Hospital Pet Boarding Training

“Dr. Boin is conscientious with seasoned expertise and his staff are kind and detail oriented with clear attention to protocols. We had a recent scare with our dog and potential bladder cancer that was flagged after we took her to vist VEG on North Avenue for emergency care(urine in blood). The recommended follow-up urine test CADEF BRAF was botched by Old Town Animal Care who mishandle the sample and rendered it unreadable by the Lab; VEG stated incorrectly that they do conduct the test only to take our sample and tell us they did not have the relationship with the Lab. It was a stressful nightmare. Near North facilitated the urine test within a day(with detailed protocols for us) and we got the results within 2 days(not 2 weeks) -the follow-up ultrasound was scheduled within days and the results provided immediately after by Dr. Boin. Dr. Boin called numerous times to speak to me personally before and after the diagnosis. As a Behavioral Health Scientist, clinical professor and animal rights activists I have been alarmed at the lack of clear communication and attention to protocols we experienced elsewhere(e.g. sending us the health history of another dog with the same name; mishandling a urine sample, missing the signs of a ACL tear and taking only X-rays of hips, etc.). Animals do not speak our language and like pre-verbal children are dependent on humans. It is our responsibility to advocate for their care and safety. Dr. Boin explains in detail and compassionate candor that only comes with seasoned expertise. We are grateful for him and his staff and we know our pup is in safe hands there. “Dr. B tried to help one of my senior cats, Pablo, after being diagnosed with a canceres tumor on his leg. Even with the odds against him, he was more than willing to help me try to give him a little bit more time with us. After everything was going south for him, Dr. B was very compassionate and understanding helping me with the grieving.
He truly loves what he does and is great with all his animals.“

VCA Cat Hospital of Chicago Pet Boarding Training

“My cat Georgie had his first appointment with this vet today, and to say I am impressed would be an understatement!

Dr Mueller has to be one of the best vets I have ever interacted with. He was so sweet to my Georgie, and so reassuring to me (despite my intense health anxiety around my cat). I immediately felt like I could trust him, which has not been the case with other practices I’ve visited in the past. He is definitely in the right line of work!

The vet techs were equally as sweet and knowledgeable. They were very reassuring to my cat and I - I even saw him slow blinking at the tech that was restraining him a few times!

Some reviews note that this place can be pricy, but honestly, I felt like pricing was very transparent and on par with what veterinary care costs these days. I think I have finally found my forever vet in Chicago!“

“I highly recommend their classes for new pet owners, or people who want their dog to behave in a more predictable manner. It makes life better when you have a dog that knows right from wrong. The trainer’s here are great. They are knowledgeable and have patience. They show you examples with your own dog.“

SBK Dog Club Pet Boarding Training

“My mini goldendoodle is my other half. I am codependent on him, so I am so picky about who I trust with him. I found SBK four years ago when he was a puppy and have had an amazing experience since. Not only did they do an amazing job grooming him, I trust that they take really good care of him when I’m not around. The owner and staff are so sweet and you can tell they’re really dog people at heart. I used to live down the block from SBK, but now I travel an hour to continue using their services because they are the only ones I trust. Highly recommend!!“

They do so many fun additional activities for the puppies (like pool days and splash pads on the warm days) & post so many pictures and updates of your pup. Rocky gets so excited when we drop him off-we travel a lot so it’s so nice knowing he is in good hands here :)“

“There was one time that Higgins upset me but it was more my reaction than them. Other than that, they were perfect. I have lived in 8 states, even more cities, and taken my dogs to many, many vets and let me tell you, I miss Higgins more than you can imagine. If they were in Las Vegas, I would go to them for everything.“
