“Getting LASIK at the Chicago SharpeVision location has truly been one of the best and most life changing decisions I’ve ever made. I wanted to write a detailed review because before going in, I had so many questions and a lot of nerves, and I hope this helps anyone else who might be considering it.

My journey started with the initial consultation with Dr. Quintana. He spent a lot of time doing a thorough set of eye tests and scans to determine if I was a good candidate for LASIK. What really stood out to me was how much care he put into explaining everything not just the results, but what they meant in plain language. He walked me through the procedure, the risks, the benefits, and the recovery process. I never once felt rushed, and by the time I left, I felt completely comfortable and confident about moving forward. That first visit really reassured me that I was in the right hands.

On the day of the procedure, Dr. Lancaster performed my surgery, and I cannot thank him enough for how calm, professional, and reassuring he was. Naturally, I was nervous, but the team gave me a Valium beforehand, which helped me relax. Dr. Lancaster explained each step as it was happening so I knew exactly what to expect. The entire procedure was surprisingly quick only about 10 to 15 minutes and there was no pain, just some mild pressure here and there. Right after, I was already noticing changes in my vision. When I got home, I followed their advice and slept right away, which made the recovery so much smoother.

At my post-LASIK checkup which was the day after, I saw Dr. Quintana again, and he made sure everything was healing properly. He checked my vision, examined my eyes, and answered all of my questions about recovery and what to expect in the days and weeks ahead. He was just as patient and kind as he had been during my consultation, which gave me so much peace of mind.

Now, waking up in morning and being able to see clearly without glasses still feels like a miracle. It’s something I honestly thought I’d never experience, and it has been life changing. From start to finish, I felt cared for, informed, and supported by both Dr. Quintana and Dr. Lancaster, as well as the entire SharpeVision team.

“I cannot recommend SharpeVision enough as they are wonderful and amazing. Due to the fact that LASIK is messing with my eyes -- eyes that I am rather fond of -- I visited a few LASIK places to see my options, get second opinions, etc. All of them suggested that I get monovision LASIK (one eye) in my dominant eye. However, and importantly, ONLY SharpeVision (Dr. Lancaster) suggested that I try out monovision, supplying me with a contact to see if I would be able to handle the adjustment. By undergoing this trial and with a lot of outside communication over a week's time, we discovered that I was not handling too well corrected nearsightedness in my dominant eye, but had little to no problem with my non-dominant eye, something not overly common. None of the other establishments I visited gave me the option to try monovision via contacts, which would have resulted in me getting LASIK that I was not overly happy with, in the incorrect eye. Thank you, Dr. Lancaster!

Additionally, Irene was amazing in making sure that I was comfortable, with coffee, snacks, during my initial assessment and during the day of the procedure. She also did a wonderful job of explaining the equipment and their functions/purpose during her initial assessment. It is also worth noting that I was very transparent that I was shopping around and there was absolutely no pressure from them to choose their establishment.

So yeah, 11/10, would visit again if I ever decided to get the other eye done! They went above and beyond all the other LASIK establishments I visited.“

I had dry eye syndrome and blepharitis. They used to tell me bleferitus has no cure you can only control it. This optilite Machine is the closest thing to a cure for blood Raitis the redness along my eyelids is gone the clogged pours in my eyes lids are gone, I don't look like a guy with inflamed eyes anymore. “Solo provides a very high level of care. My challenging eye problems include poor eye coordination and Glaucoma, My eye doctor sends me to Silo for lens prescriptions. Solo worked for almost two hours to get the right prescriptions at my last visit. in addition to this level of care, Solo has a better selection of designer frames than most stores, and the cost at Solo for lens production is competitive. I have done the comparison shopping.“

“Thorough eye exam, and both the eye doctor and his staff explained what equipment was being used and why it was needed. Good selections of frames although I am not an optometrist or an ophthalmologist, but a psychiatrist I trade, I have some knowledge of ocular processing and of structure of the eye and visual processing. Doctor appeared very well, educated and very well-versed in his field, being able to answer all the questions I asked him. His office is very well decorated and pleasant to be in. His office hours are fantastic as most medical staff have very limited office hours these days which I do not know why medical staff do this. I did call his office for a follow up question after my visit, and the message was taken by staff but as of yet 12 hours later, I have not gotten to return call. I’m hoping he calls me in the morning. Dr. Morrison has become my regular optometrist for as long as I need one. He is quite patient focused .“
