We can take him out to public patios now and place him to the side and he will stay there and get to watch all the action but not react or try to get in other dogs spaces. Its great for him because he gets so much more stimulation and we dont have to constantly handle him so he gets taken more often.“

“Jax is my 3 year old toy poodle and he’s a great dog. However, walking him was a huge challenge for me and embarrassing. When he saw people and other dogs outside he would start to pant and I could feel the anxiety building up just holding on to the leash. He would pull, get up on his hind legs squirming around barking, trying to get off the leash, which led into a high screeching sound. It was embarrassing because it appeared as if he was being hurt by me. But it was him trying to get their attention so they can come to him and pet him. I finally decided to seek training for him and thank God I did. Brian is an amazing trainer and was able to correct Jax’s behavior while walking. It was like I had a new dog. I totally didn’t recognize him. Like “what did you do with my dog?” LOL However I knew the real challenge would be when I had to do it alone and continue to do it everyday. We’re still working on this everyday and he’s been a well behaved dog. Maybe a glitch or 2 but I corrected him immediately with the techniques I was taught. He will give you homework and if you remain consistent, you will see the improvement with your dog. He also makes it easily accessible for you to reach out to him if you’re having an issue you feel you can’t correct. He makes you feel comfortable, explains everything in detail and listens to your concerns. Brian’s techniques work! I highly recommend Brian of Awoken K9.“

“As a very careful pet owner, especially when it comes to my bunny, I had a great experience with this office from start to finish. From my initial phone call, the front desk staff were helpful, kind, and accommodating, and they were able to fit my rabbit into the schedule quickly, which I truly appreciated.

I brought my rabbit, Lily, in due to a bladder stone and was understandably nervous about surgery on such a small animal. After meeting with Dr. Hughes and discussing the procedure, I felt confident that she was in good hands. He answered my questions clearly, was patient, and made the entire process feel organized and professional.

It was especially reassuring knowing that Dr. Hughes has owned rabbits himself, as rabbits are often misunderstood as pets. Lily’s surgery went smoothly, the pricing was very reasonable for exotic animal care, and the overall experience was excellent.

This will now be our veterinary office for both of my rabbits and my senior dog. I’m very grateful for the care we received and would highly recommend Dr. Hughes and his team.

“I have been coming here ever since I was a child, and my mom had ever since she was a teenager. We have brought ferrets, dogs, and birds and always received such great, caring service.

Last year, I adopted my first dog on my own, and of course there was no other vet I’d take her to. Not even two months ago, I brought her in to get her annual vaccines when Dr. Brooks noticed some lumps in her mammary glands. It is something that I probably never would have noticed on my own. He walked us through what it could be, as well as what we would have to do to test them. With the probability of it being cancer, and with my financial situation, I was heartbroken and preparing for the worst, but the entire team handled this situation with so much grace and they were extremely understanding and able to work with us.

All of her diagnostic tests and surgery were done in just a few weeks without any complications. We got her stitches removed yesterday and I am so so thankful for Dr. Brooks and the entire team here. Sticky has been doing so well, and the cancer was caught before it had the chance to progress. I can’t even explain the relief I feel for getting to have more time with my baby. We owe it all to everyone here for catching it and removing it with such swiftness and care. I could not recommend them enough.“
