“My wife and I had a great experience with Hammond!
We were dealing with a stressful AC emergency and they were able to get someone out to us quickly within the timeframe that we needed for an initial visit. We were told our unit needed a defrost board, and it would take a few days to get the part. That sucked pretty bad to hear with how hot it was, but sometimes that happens and it wasn't their fault.
A tech came back out ready to replace the bad part, but ultimately discovered that what we actually needed was new refigerant lines. While this added time to our dilemma without AC and was frustrating, it ultimately made sense given the age of our house, so again, not on Hammond.
To cover our bases, we did seek out a second opinion, but that turned into a huge disaster with the second company (NOT Hammond) destroying our AC unit completely. At that point, we really weren't sure what to do and were panicking.
Hammond ended up truly saving our sanity at this point. They were able to work with us to get us a gently used (but still newer) AC unit and replace our refigerant lines while helping us stay within our admittedly tight budget. Additionally, we were provided a portable AC unit (which worked shockingly well) as a loaner completely free of charge to help make our house more bearable while we waited on the work to be finished. We really can't express how thankful we were for that, and were even a little disappointed to have to give it back after!
Overall, despite some minor hiccups at first (including our own with being a bit too harsh on our initial judgements of Hammond), Hammond really came through and turned out to be an excellent company that really seems to care about their customers. We'll definitely be using them moving forward for any of our heating/AC needs!”
