I came in after the worst haircut of my life and needed someone to do literal surgery on my hair. I had only the semblance of an idea, but he asked me for reference pictures and then worked according to the most similar cut that would also fit my face well. The thing is that he would stop and explain his thinking, show/give me options, and then wait for my decision to do anything, which I appreciated immensely. He has a great eye for seeing a style that will fit you, but he won’t just make a cut without your consent.

I remember walking out of the salon feeling so much confidence restored after a month of hiding and fighting with my hair. For my second cut, he did the same and gave me a beautiful chopped bob (new style for me).

Bodhi has so much skill with his hair tools, and you can tell he is both very comfortable and experienced. I absolutely would trust him if you’re ever looking to make a bold cut. It’s expensive but worth it - he will walk you through it and make sure you come out with something you wanted and are excited about.“

“I called and was able to get in right away. They were closing early for the snow storm and let me know to come ASAP so I did! This was my first time at the salon but I will definitely be back. The prices were very reasonable and the owner eveb wrapped my hair for me (for a small fee for the bobby pins). I was very happy with the wash blow dry and set, although next time I will definitely include the deep conditioner treatment.“

“Traveled to DC for work and stumbled across Twist It Sista for a loc retwist and style and I’m SO GLAD I did! I called ahead and was seen within an hour. First off, the salon is GORGEOUS: beautiful art, plants, spotless, music (neo soul) was on point, and there was free coffee, tea, water and other refreshments. My stylist, Tavia, was so gentle and knowledgeable. She recommended some products for me throughout the service and gave me the best wash + deep conditioning I’ve had in a while. Everyone in the shop was lovely. Emily at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. 10/10 experience, I would highly recommend for my other loc’d, faux locs, and natural sistas!“
