Josh, the service technician, came out promptly and within the window specified by Roto-Rooter dispatch. He was personable, professional, informative, and listened to all my concerns and solved my problem very quickly. Our entire main sewer line in the house was clogged. After showing Josh the 2 mainline sewer clean-outs, he further assessed the situation, and then proceeded to the exact spot that needed to be utilized to remedy the situation. “I have an old house with old plumbing. We had a different plumber come out to fix a sink that wasn't working right. They charged a ton of money and didn't give effort into fixing the problem, telling me that I needed a full replacement that would cost me even more money. I called Rousseau and the plumber was able to fix what the other guy couldn't. He did it in less time and at half the cost, saving us from having to replace the faucet. He understood older plumbing and did a great job! They are the only plumbers I will be calling.“

“Our kitchen remodel was a family labor of love brought to fruition by our team from Lakeview Builders. The kitchen in our 100+ year old cottage was in need of refreshment.

After months of design and redesign of the agreed upon floor plan among the 4 senior sibling homeowners, it was time to find a team of contractors that we felt were well suited for our project. Upon reading reviews from others who had contracted with Lakeview, they became one of three from whom we sought estimates. A comfortable connection was established upon meeting with Bernie who drew up a very thorough estimate which helped us to know how our money would be used. Each family member carefully reviewed the estimate, submitted questions and received timely responses. The estimated cost, ability to meet our construction timeline, previous experience working with Kitchen Advantage (where we selected our cabinets) and responsiveness to questions along the way resulted in our selection of Lakeview Builders which proved a good choice for us.

From the start of the project to the finishing touches, we were pleased with the work of the various team members involved. All were very professional and respectful of our property. In most cases we knew whether or not we would have work done from day to day and if uncertain, I sent a text of inquiry and received my answer. Minor modification changes that we sought along the way were discussed and handled as requested.

Two family members and spouses were present throughout the remodel and two were not. Photos were exchanged throughout the less than 2 month process. Upon seeing the finished product for the first time, it was written, “The kitchen in person is even more spectacular than in photos. The wood floors are incredible. The shelves are decorated with tasteful old original trinkets. The lighting options are awesome. I appreciate the ceiling puck lights with dimmers, the two pendants over the island and the good looking sconce in the stairwell. The fresh staining has breathed life back into these antique walls. The shelving and trim work looks great!

The countertops are particularly outstanding and the ceiling and beams look original. I am overwhelmed how updated the space looks, but still has the integrity of a kitchen built in 1919.”

“Lou is a great guy. He's something of a throwback to an earlier time when repairmen actually returned your calls and took the time to speak with you in order to understand your problem--and then called you back to make sure everything was ok with the repair. I had a problem with a 17 year old Utica boiler that kept losing its pilot flame after 5-6 hours. I had replaced the thermocouple and cleaned the burner during the summer and the boiler had been working fine until the pilot began going out after 5-6 hours of heating. I would re-light the pilot and it would stay lit and the boiler would run but then the pilot would go out again. I called Lou, explained what was going on--describing everything the system was doing and not doing--and and within a matter of a minute or two he told me it was likely the gas control valve. Sure enough, that was EXACTLY what it was. He came over, swapped out the old Honeywell gas valve with a new one and the boiler has been running fine ever since. This is a guy you DEFINITELY want to know. Great job Lou Thanks!“

“10 years ago, the Hurlburt Bros. replaced our 1970s-era oil burner with a gas furnace. Al recommended not getting the most expensive models -- rightly saying that the extra cost wouldn't be recovered by the moderately higher efficiency of the super-high efficiency models. Same for the water heater. They did the job with old-school black pipe instead of the crap most plumbers use now. The cost was fully 1/3 the price of the most expensive bids. It was a beautiful job that -- now 10 years later -- still works perfectly with zero maintenance. We're delighted with their work and recommend Hurlburt without reservation.“
