Lou is a great guy. He's something of a throwback to an earlier time when repairmen actually returned your calls and took the time to speak with you in order to understand your problem--and then called you back to make sure everything was ok with the repair.
I had a problem with a 17 year old Utica boiler that kept losing its pilot flame after 5-6 hours. I had replaced the thermocouple and cleaned the burner during the summer and the boiler had been working fine until the pilot began going out after 5-6 hours of heating. I would re-light the pilot and it would stay lit and the boiler would run but then the pilot would go out again. I called Lou, explained what was going on--describing everything the system was doing and not doing--and and within a matter of a minute or two he told me it was likely the gas control valve. Sure enough, that was EXACTLY what it was. He came over, swapped out the old Honeywell gas valve with a new one and the boiler has been running fine ever since.
This is a guy you DEFINITELY want to know. Great job Lou Thanks!
