“In reading the other reviews online, especially the one from Alexandra, I realize that my experience with Colorado Elder Care Soloutions really reflects what others have experienced. My father's brain tumor "bloomed" at the same time my mom broke her pelvis. As an only child with a very, very limited support network, I found myself having to take a leave of absence from my job and struggling to keep up with overseeing my parent's care in two different facilities. And the facilities are a huge deal. No one wants their loved one to end up in the dreaded nightmarish "nursing home" and believe me, they still exist. You have to be an insider to know which facilities are clean, professional, medically sound and have a caring staff...or you need to be talking to Karen and her team at Colorado Elder Care Solutions! They helped guide me to an excellent facility for my dad and even set up meetings with the nursing director to ensure he received good care. Karen and Leila were there for me and for dad, no matter what the issue. And they spotted issues that I hadn't noticed, like an infected bedsore on my dad. Leila actively contacted the wound care staff and switched meds to make it less painful for him. Even though he couldn't communicate how bad it hurt, Leila was very aware of it and took the extra step to soothe his pain. Leila was there for all the "family" meetings, which became a tremendous relief and support for me. Having an ally in the room when you have no family or friends advocating for you means the world. After engaging with Colorado Eldercare I didn't feel like I was making decisions in a vaccum, and I didn't feel alone in figuring it all out anymore. Now my mom is living with me and my family, and while her health is good, she (and I) greatly benefit from having a caregiver from Colorado Elder Care Solutions come in during the week to get her up and out of bed, dressed, fed and interacting. I know that mom has a friend who is not only making sure she eats well during the day but also makes sure she is going to the bathroom regularly, gives her meds to her, does exercises with her and gets her outside into the sunshine, and so much more.
