I've walked by Matiz countless times over the years and have always been curious about it. I found the relaxed and peaceful setting inside El Jardin makes for both a comfortable and upscale downtown experience. I booked blow dry appointments for my mother and myself, which made for great pampering Christmas treats! Both Morgen and Riley gave us stellar service: our hair looked fantastic and the company was warm and welcoming. Something about supporting a Downtown Ventura business during the holidays made the choice for Matiz the right one! If you're looking for a quick service, this is your spot.

I walked out of Matiz loving my hair 100x more than I already did. I've always kept my hair long so going in to the salon to get a significant cut was a little nerve racking but Kresa did an amazing job. She cut little by little to make sure I was comfortable with the layers. Her opinions on what would look good with my face shape and hair texture were so helpful. 100% recommend

I've been coming here for years! I love this salon and Claudia Soto is a true artist! She's amazing at color, highlights and cutting. She never disappoints. I always look forward to coming in to see her and feel my best when I leave.
