“We have use SoCal Flood Restoration & Design... twice. They are that good. Our first experience was after the bathroom, vanity, and bedroom of our townhome was flooded from a slab-leak from our neighbor's property. They managed everything with a fully transparent process. Refreshing. After they arranged for asbestos testing, dry-out and remediation, they worked with my wife to develop the remodel. They then installed new flooring cabinetry, bathroom plumbing, wall texture and painting, electrical... everything. Just as she wanted it. And no surprises.

About a year later, we decided to remodel the entirety of the same house. We came back to Borna, Alexis, Bani, and the whole SoCal crew. “Short version: Justin (owner, GC) completed a remodel of our 5 bd, 3 bath house where every room was touched, and did it to the estimated price and on schedule per our initial meeting. The communication and responsiveness was great during the whole process, and if any issues did arise, it was addressed promptly to our liking. With Cal-Best, you will get an honest contractor at a fair price that will be able to complete your remodel. Long version: Our remodel consisted of removing a load bearing wall and installing a steel beam, complete repipe of water and sewer lines, new hvac/furnace/ducting, kitchen layout and new cabinets, 2 bathroom remodel and a bathroom added, added laundry room, electrical rewire, recessed lighting, and new windows/doors. Virtually everything in our 2200 sqft house was replaced minus the drywall. My wife and I developed our remodel plans, had structural plans made for the beam, created a detailed scope of work of what we wanted done (you should do this when meeting with potential contractors so that everyone is bidding on the same project), and met with 12 contractors total that were either recommended to us by friends or family, or ones that advertise on social media/ print ads. Justin was recommended to us through someone my father has worked with for a while. He was the second contractor we met with, and promptly provided a detailed estimate that was broken up room by room and trade by trade so that we could assess what we could do within our project budget and to ensure there was nothing left off the list. Despite asking all contractors for the same format, Justin was 1 of 3 that actually did so. When we got the other contractor bids, there were numerous areas where the estimated costs were much higher but with zero description, and as a result, we didn't have a good feeling they knew what was going to be needed to complete our job. Justin was checking in during this process which was another positive sign to us, where some of the others would not return phone calls or emails. Once we signed the contract with Justin, he was able to start the next week and our project was underway.Justin is the primary general contractor, but has a core group of employees that complete a lot of the work. He uses specific trades to complete the cabinetry, tile, paint, flooring. His crew and his subcontractors crew do quality work and keep the job site clean. In the few occasions we noticed something we didn't like, we would report it to Justin and it would get corrected shortly thereafter. There were a couple scope changes my wife and I initiated where he would provide a change order, wait for for approval, and then proceed when we gave him the go ahead. At the end of the project, when we received the final invoice, the total summed up to the bid price he initially provided (plus the COs), which further confirmed his understanding of the project requirements and pricing to get the job done. I would recommend Justin to anyone who is looking for an honest contractor, that will be responsive and take your calls/meet with you when requested, and do it all at a fair price.“
