“Megan Nguyen and everyone else at Benito & Azzaro was so supportive and made the process as easy as possible. First off, because an autopsy wasn’t necessary, we were able to delay pick up of the body until family members and close friends arrived. This gave closure and peace.
Second, we were able to customize different aspects. For example, we had a brief service with 7 people at the crematory just before cremation.( There was an extra fee for that but for me it was important and worth it.) It was terribly comforting to have Megan, a familiar face, there during that time.
We also customized many parts of the celebration of life. We selected 50 pictures and Megan made them into a slide show that showed on their 2 big screens before and after the service. We designed our own program but Benito & Azzaro printed and folded them. When we wanted popular songs Megan was able to get them and made those into a soundtrack as well. We used their main chapel for the Celebration of Life but wanted food too. We were able to use their original chapel and its kitchen and refrigerator for this as well. It was quite a complex service but they helped us pull it off beautifully.
We wanted to inter my husband at the Central Coast Veterans Cemetery in Seaside and Megan knew what forms I needed to fill out, who I needed to contact, and what size urn would fit in the Columbarium niche. We felt supported in this as well. We felt like we were treated with dignity, respect and as people not dollar signs.“
