The price he gave us was the best quote we received of the three companies that quoted the job and after seeing photos of other projects he completed, we gave him the job. His team worked quickly to demolish our existing shower and bathtub. The material he used for the shower walls is very nice and was installed quickly. Mendy drew up our permit drawings and got the permit approved with the city of San Jose. He was quick and responsive, and worked to the timeframes he promised. He was familiar with the city of San Jose and went in person to get our permit approved quickly. When we had to make alterations to the permit drawings (we discovered necessary changes as demolition and rough work proceeded), he did them very quickly and walked in again to get approval on the spot, keeping our project on time. “We’ve now worked with Sigura Constructions on two major home renovation projects, and both experiences were beyond excellent.

The most recent project was a full remodel of our laundry room, kids’ bathroom, and master bathroom. This came after they had already done a full renovation of the rest of our house during phase one (excluding those areas). The first phase was so impressive that hiring Ilan Sigura and his team again was a no-brainer.

Ilan is amazing to work with. He’s not just the owner; he’s fully involved in the process from start to finish. He’s friendly, super responsive, and clearly takes pride in his work. He came by weekly for walkthroughs, was in daily contact with his team, and we got regular updates on progress. We always felt like our satisfaction was his top priority.

The crew was also fantastic. Super professional, respectful, and incredibly detail-oriented. Michal and Dana from MiDa totally understood our style and helped create bathrooms and a laundry room that are both modern and functional. They had great ideas, were a pleasure to work with, and worked directly with Sigura’s team so everything was seamless.

From the initial quote to the final touches, everything ran smoothly. Communication was clear, the timeline was realistic, and any small issues were handled quickly and professionally.

“A friend recommended May Construction when we were considering a kitchen remodel, and we’re very glad they did. Our initial consultation with Bill was thoughtful and thorough—he walked us through options while respecting that we liked the basic layout of our original 1970s kitchen.

We ultimately chose a full renovation down to the studs, including raising the original drop ceiling to support key design elements. Once work began, we worked daily with Troy, who kept us well informed throughout the project.

We had heard plenty of renovation horror stories and were prepared for the worst, but none of those concerns materialized. The schedule was very predictable, with few idle days, and the crew consistently cleaned the work areas at the end of each day.
