Mr. Carter has made such a positive impact on my son’s life. Since joining World Class Tae Kwon Do classes, my son has become more confident, disciplined, and motivated. What truly stands out is the patience, care, and encouragement he gives to every student.
One recent situation especially stands out, and I would like to share it here.
At a recent festival competition, during the warm-up, my son became very upset and nervous and felt like he would not do well. Mr. Carter noticed immediately and took the time to speak with him, encourage him, and help him regain his confidence and positive attitude. Thanks to his support and motivation, my son went into the competition feeling much better and ended up achieving great results. That moment meant so much to us as parents.
He helps children grow not only in their Taekwondo skills, but also emotionally and mentally. My son looks forward to every class, and we are truly grateful for the kindness, dedication, and inspiration he brings.
I highly recommend World Class Tae Kwon Do to any family looking for a supportive and outstanding Taekwondo team.”“

6179 Santa Teresa Blvd, San Jose“Really fantastic community led by Coach Apple. I’ve seen the increased in confidence and responsibility from my kids since joining this academy and they have fun each week, which is just as important! The coaches are well trained to handle and lead young children, they’re patient and encouraging yet still lead with a firm touch which is important at this age too.
The summer camps have also been enjoyable and activity filled. My kids ask specify not to be picked up early so they can stay the whole time. A win in my book!“

5885 Winfield Blvd, San Jose“I've been training at The Underground/Shamrock MMA for about a month, and my experience has been great so far. They even offer a free one-day lesson, which makes it easy to try things out before committing.
The coaches are welcoming, knowledgeable, and really attentive. They break things down in a detailed way and give you that one-on-one feel, even in a group setting, tailoring feedback to what you personally need to improve. No matter your skill level, everyone here is respectful, which makes it a comfortable place to learn and grow.
If you work nearby and your employer offers Life Balance as a health benefit, you may also be eligible for a discount, which is a nice bonus.“

Recently held my son’s birthday party and the service and process was great and super easy! Everything came out great and the staff went above and beyond! Isabel M was a HUGE reason for everything coming out the way it did, she took the time to meet with me personally and answer all my questions leading up to the party, I will continue to recommend people to meet with Isabel for any party related items at the plex!“

296 Barnard Ave, San Jose“Such an incredible class!! We learned a wide range of practical self-defense techniques that were easy to understand, easy to practice, and actually feel doable in real-life situations. We were also given valuable tips for staying aware and safe in daily life. Paul was a fantastic instructor and took his time making sure my group understood each technique before moving on to the next one. If you get a chance, I highly recommend taking this class!“

1244 S Bascom Ave, San Jose“Fantastic gym! I’ve been curious about learning judo for years, and I’m really glad I signed up at CJ. The coaches are knowledgeable, welcoming, and genuinely invested in helping new students learn the art.
The facility is clean and well-maintained, and the level of instruction is excellent. Both the coaches and team actively compete, and you can feel that experience reflected on the mats.
Whether your goal is self-defense or competition, CJ Judo will prepare you for either. I’ve had a great experience training here and highly recommend it.“

Master Jackson is truly one of a kind — knowledgeable, passionate, and fully dedicated to every student’s growth. Whether it’s kids’ Taekwondo or adult kickboxing, he brings so much energy, discipline, and encouragement to each class. You can tell he genuinely cares about his students and loves what he does.
AJ is also amazing — always supportive, professional, and kind. Together, Master Jackson and AJ make an incredible team that creates a safe, motivating, and family-friendly environment.
The whole Exceed family is welcoming and supportive. This is more than just a martial arts school — it’s a place where kids grow, gain confidence, and learn from two of the best masters around. Highly recommended!“

6467 Almaden Expy, San Jose“Both my children have been going to the Almaden beach of Vision Martial Arts and we’ve been happy with their teaching philosophy and delivery of classes. Our experience with Vision Martial Arts began 10 yrs ago when our then slightly timid daughter was in Kindergarten . Today she’s a confident and resilient black belt and enjoys volunteering her time as an instructor for the junior classes. Her progression through the belts under the mentorship of some great instructors has taught her self discipline, grit, confidence and a sense of purpose . Her instructors have instilled a deep passion for Martial Arts while also teaching crucial life skills. Even though it’s been 10 years doing the same activity, she still looks forward to going to her classes and learning new martial arts forms. My younger son is well on his journey to follow her footsteps as a black belt in a few years. It’s so much more than just another activity. It helps shape their personality and mindset.“
7:30 - 8:30PM
319 Piercy Rd, San Jose“I started my Jiu Jitsu journey right here in Battle Control MMA. Having tried several Martial Arts in the past before coming here I stepped into the gym wary of one thing. Arrogance.
I was pleasantly surprised by the Instructor and owner Greg Lara's attitude. Is he a humble man? Perhaps a bit more humble than your typical guy, but he is certainly approachable. Too many martial artists think they are better than others and it shows. Some Martial artists are outright thugs. This is not Greg Lara. I trust this man and I respect him.
As for instruction, let me tell you. Jiu Jitsu is one of the deepest martial arts I have tried to learn. You can't help but feel overwhelmed by the complexity of what's happening in each grappling match you engage in. But the great thing is that you experience it in real time and you learn to adapt, to counter, to improvise and overcome. Battle control is a great place to do that.
The classes are about conditioning your body while drilling technique then putting into practice. It's tough, its a little dangerous, and it extremely rewarding.
Battle control is owned by a Christian believer and like any dojo there is an element of spirituality on the mats. This gym bring Jesus to practice and believe me this makes a difference. Humility and care should never be separate from practice as we are competing with each other while using joint locks and chokes that could genuinely harm another person. I believe this is handled very well here.
In essence this is a great place to learn and grow your skills in grappling, wrestling and conditioning. I recommend for anyone who wants to challenge thems lives and I come their shortcomings.“

My kids Taeguek forms have been impressive to watch and how they work on it to continuously improve. My kids have also attended competitions through the school and the support and encouragement Master Jennifer gives in that regard is truly appreciated.“
