1844 Market St, San Francisco“Been personal-training with Donnovan for a couple months now. I came in as a very skinny guy looking to regain + build new strength after years of circumstantial neglect, and he’s been great at adjusting pacing, introducing movements to learn to recruit dormant muscles, and keeping me progressing consistently on raw strength. He’s also fun to work out with, we usually yap about everything from music to AI agents to mental health and lifestyle.
The gym itself is also a nice environment - feels positive and wellness oriented. The perks (unlimited dexa scans, recovery room, etc) are nice too!“

1801 Bush St #206, San Francisco“Elise is an amazing esthetician and all around human! She really helped me clear my skin rather than me going down a more severe medication route. Her products are amazing, her facials really helped, and, most importantly, she helped me make a small tweak to my diet that really helped my skin and she explained why. After trying many places, products, and diet, Elise finally got me clear!“

155 Valencia St, San Francisco“She is great, great staff, and she understands the nuances related to veteran specific muskoskeletal conditions. Highly recommend her. Wish I still lived in San Francisco - if so this old service connected disabled veteran would still go to her - she helped me so much maintain my back pain issues - wonderful person and chiropractor. Highly recommend Alice“

1888a Union St, San Francisco“Jasmine is an incredible trainer who quickly identified my joint hypermobility and tailored a program that builds strength without aggravating pain. She finds challenging exercises that keep my joints stable, and thanks to her guidance I’ve gained muscle, increased my overall strength, and significantly reduced day-to-day discomfort. Working with her has genuinely improved my quality of life, and I can’t recommend her highly enough.“

390 Laurel St Ste 207, San Francisco“The professionals at Jumpstart are friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. I particularly liked how they tailored their thoughtful approach to meet my specific needs without compromising the program's values. I also like that they are open early in the morning, so you can go get your appointments done before going to work. Their app is very helpful in managing your dietary intake, and I like their Bespoke Supplements Program“

70 Elk St, San Francisco“This review is overdue, but I wanted to share my positive experience working with Jeffrey for in-home strength training. He helped me to get into a manageable routine with strength training, focusing on my form, regular customized strength training workouts, and adjustments over time to respond to my needs. He also helped me build out my home workout equipment and gave me honest feedback about what was most important for me and my goals.
I do feel like I've gained strength and self-discipline, which helps me in my daily life with my posture and how I feel physically. I came into strength training with very little experience, and Jeffrey gave me the tools to feel confident with my new routine and my own ability to build on it over time.“

557 Waller St, San Francisco“She's a great chiropractor and a wonderful woman. I tried a doctor and a PT before her, neither helped much. She had me on my feet again with minimal pain in two or so weeks.“

4046 California St, San Francisco“I’ve been seeing Marci for strength training, one-on-one coaching, and her weekly zoom workouts for 10+ years. I love her approach of getting down to the fundamentals and doing the most effective and complete workout with the least amount of time and equipment. Perfect!
Marci does everything from private sessions to “community” zoom workouts. That latter has been key to my own consistent practice because it’s a live session I can join from home. It’s just the right amount of accountability to keep me doing the workouts 4x per week. She also posts workout videos for an offline, in your own time experience. Add to this her monthly upgrades and you’re building strength and habits for a lifetime.
If you’re a 40+ woman who loves the idea of ageproofing and Wonderfulness, check out Marci and her Wonderfulness Community. She’s an inspiration!“

“Custom Fit has set a super high standard for gyms for me. They have created a well equipped gym with a great layout, a super welcoming vibe, kind and helpful trainers with a lot of knowledge, a regular schedule of daily workout classes, and the recovery room (infrared sauna and cold plunge) which I used all the time.
Vibe: I had never used a gym previously, and always felt intimidated from working out at a gym. Custom Fit changed that for me completely - I've always felt welcomed and comfortable, everyone is kind and helpful if you want assistance with form, and it never feels overwhelming or crowded. Not being crowded was a huge plus for me, I was never waiting for a machine, and people are nice about working in as needed. The environment alone was a big part for me in helping me to get in shape and make the gym my routine.
Trainers: All the trainers are happy to chat and work with you, if you just have a quick question or want to talk more in depth about anything. The trainers are each incredible at what they do and they will push you through a tailored program to help you reach your goals, and will still set you on the right path with the right workout program if you cannot continue working with them due to financial constraints. I started with a PT for 10 sessions, and she set me up with a great program to continue after I finished working with her. And afterwards I could still hit her up with questions, and I could easily ask other trainers questions about form, workouts, etc..
Equipment and Classes: The gym is well equipped across the different studios, I used the ones on Market as well as the main one on Octavia. You have all the standard machines, weights, as well as an area and equipment for agility. I used the recovery room all the time after nearly every workout, which I loved. And the classes and run club are run by the trainers, so you can still get time with an individual trainer to get to know them a bit better if you aren’t working with one. You can also have a quick chat with the nutritionists to get a better understanding of how to approach what you eat. Also - they have showers at least two locations, which you never need to wait for.
Other reviews have issue with the price - yes, it is pricier than other gyms, but you get a lot for what you pay for IMO. No crowds, great gym, classes, awesome trainers, recovery room, and showers.“
