She's excellent at record keeping, noting which products and services she uses for each session, which she then references when deciding on what to use for your next facial. “CHRISTINA IS AMAZING! I have been searching for a sugaring place ever since I moved up here from LA a few months ago. They're a dime a dozen out there and are all great places, so I was a little disappointed I couldn't find as many sugaring places here in SF. I tried some other places out here in the city and I'm not kidding when I say NO ONE compares to Christina. Seriously, she made it soooo quick and painless! I mean, not completely painless because she is pulling hair after all lol but compared to other places, this was a cake walk! Sugaring is something I dread every 4-6 weeks but she's such a good conversationalist, she made 25 minutes go by in the blink of an eye!!! This was my maybe fifth? time sugaring (never had any waxing done before I started) and I NEVER managed to make it all the way through ANY session. Christina was so awesome, I actually made it through the entire appointment!! I'm literally so smooth!!! She cleans you up super well and adds a nice soothing lotion after. Other sugaring places left me sticky, BLEEDING, and in actual pain wtf. Never again! Good price, awesome service, even more awesome conversation--consider me a regular :)“

“This is a very nice salon that has a steady client base. I have been looking for a new place since my regular spot went out of business during the pandemic and it’s been trial and error. They are very professional and I love that it’s not overcrowded or rushed. They are appointment only and the prices are really good! They did a great job on my nails abs cuticles. I’m really hard on my finger nails and I usually chip them quickly. So far, the polish has held up very well. It’s probably one of the better manicures I’ve had. I’ll definitely be back again.“

“Lori is a local gem! I have very sensitive skin, and she transformed my skin, bringing out a glow that I have been able to maintain for 3 years now -- something I didn't know was possible. I had never had a facial before I first saw her in December 2019 and was really nervous that it would either inflame my skin or make me break out. Lori was so gentle from the moment I arrived, putting me at ease, taking time to get to know me, my routine and the products I use and why. She soothed my irritated skin during the facial, but also my mind and body too with the heated bed, super quiet studio with soft lighting, and her calming approach. I left with samples to test what products might work best for me after Lori spent time sharing information about common irritants found in face products. We even talked about the connection between nutrition, hydration, and skin redness, which gave me the info I need to adapt practices that work for me and that have helped to improve my skin consistently. Finally, Lori's wisdom spans far beyond skincare and holistic mind-body care. She is a delight to talk to, I always learn so much from our conversations...and it's super cool that her studio sits on the same land where Mary Ellen Pleasant, the "Mother of Civil Rights of California," lived. Lori is one of the local gems carrying on the legacy of women, like MEP who have made San Francisco such a wonderful place.
