“Defense Arts Center is the place to go if you are interested in learning or having your child learn authentic, traditional Japanese Karate. My son has been going to DAC for a year now and it's been a great experience for him. The instructor, Sensei Ty, is very professional, kind, and caring. His karate program teaches kihon (basic moves), kata (forms) and kumite (sparring), as well as self-defense movements. While there are many karate dojos/training centers around this area, including Upland, Ontario, Ranco Cucamonga, etc., this is the only place where you can learn real Japanese karate-do, namely Shotokan karate, one of the four major styles of Karate that are Shotokan-ryu, Goju-ryu, Shito-ryu, and Wado-ryu.“

“Being in Krav Maga has not only taught me how to fight, but it made me become a better person and more confident. I am able to stand up for myself. I never thought I be standing up for myself. I owe it all to Sensei Johnson for helping me and guiding me to be tough and helping me reach my goals. I joined Krav Maga so that I wouldn't be afraid, weak, and timid. This is something that gets me through the day. When I walk into the dojo, I am a completely different person. I went on a 11 year hiatus from 2010 to 2021. “Okay! Thank you team for helping me with my refund issue, it is now back in my account. I’m only going to deduct 1 star for that and the cage not being built yet/gym equipment needing love.

Now, the best part of the gym is the community. I’ve never more welcomed in a gym, especially since the first class. The coaches here are top tier. There were unfortunately some restructuring things that had multiple coaches gone, but the ones who’ve stayed are truly golden.

Shoutout to these shining stars: Nadia, Matthew, Frida, Randall, Tyrece, Adrian, and Danny. These are the coaches I interact with the most and have helped me in numerous ways. The person I have to give most credit though is Coach Ethan. This man has truly helped me transform my life. Officially with him I’ve lost 50 lbs in 9 months, and overall in a year I’ve lost almost 60lbs!

I will say his personal MMA group and joining Alta has helped me the most. In the Alta fight camp, I’ve lost 15lbs in 8 weeks so far. I finally made my first fight weight and I haven’t this number seen since high school.

I’m grateful for my Alta coaches. Ethan is amazing at striking, Nadia helped me grow in wrestling, and I can’t wait for the cage to be built so Lucas can help us prepare for our upcoming fight!

Special shoutout to Coaches Adrian and Danny. Learning jujitsu has been a journey as well and I’m excited to grow here. I wish all the classes were 90min long all the time!

“The studio is NOT glamorous but you can see and feel the dedication of the students from there. Younger students are encouraged to try their best and excell in all faucets of their life. Adults in the classes attend to learn and improve skills, all egos are checked at the door. The parking lot does leave alot to be desired. Lines can't be seen very easily and some other patrons of the little shopping strip make up their own parking rules...“
