“Custom Design & Construction performed a full kitchen remodel on our ~40-year-old galley-style kitchen and we are absolutely THRILLED with the results! Beth and Chelsea provided a variety of design options and were completely accommodating of our odd requests (39” vs 36” height for countertops, an 18” elevated dishwasher platform, and no upper cabinetry, among others). Beth’s virtual mock-ups were particularly helpful in visualizing our plans. Our site manager Ryan was fabulous, and went above and beyond with communication and service, providing us with excellent practical advice and solutions for some of the problems our 1940-era house presented to his team. Ryan was consistently calm and positive about the project, and was also able to include several last-minute requests that made a big difference to the final look and our satisfaction with the job. The work was completed well within the proposed timeline, with no surprise charges. We would use this company again in a heartbeat—truly outstanding quality from start to finish from everyone at CDC. They lived up to their name and we now have the “custom design”-ed kitchen of our dreams!“

We worked with Al 18 years ago to add 1300 feet on the 2nd floor of a one-story 3-bedroom 1962-era tract home in Rancho Palos Verdes. We had a very good experience with Al. He is creative and easy going and a joy to work with. We still get compliments on his designs and love living in our home.“

“Troy did a great job on our full gut housing remodel. We were at the project nearly everyday. We lived nearby and were constantly impressed with the quality of work performed, the cleanliness of his crew, and their ability to hit the exact schedule that Troy communicated to us. One thing that is nice about hurst construction is that he has in house specialists that do their specific trade- plumber, electrician, framer, finish carpenter, painter, and a few others. The quality of work you get from these trade individuals is very high because they are working within their specialty.

Another thing that was great about Troy was his willingness to meet with us and provide his input when needed. He is a good contractor to solve problems with because he has a very good eye for detail and will always do his work the right way.

Lastly and most importantly, Troy is honest with you. He works very hard to make sure that you are happy with his work. If I were to do a high end house in the area, he would be my first call!“

“I visited here while in Los Angeles and purchased a few pieces of jewelry, one of the necklaces I purchased has a tiny very thin gold seashell attached and in less than a month of very minimal wear the seashell broke at the stem; I called from Massachusetts and they replaced it and sent me another one which was deeply appreciated at no cost!Although I love the necklace, the shell is not going to last because the stem that attaches to the necklace is way too thin and I can see it is going to break again.It’s a beautiful necklace but I am looking for another seashell for the chain.It is going to cost me extra money about $50 above the $80 I already spent but the seashell is not a good fit due to craftsmanship beyond the artisans’ control!UPDATE: I am happy to say on this 23rd day of September 2022 that the shell is still in one piece and although thin and fragile it has held up!I am happy for that for sure, I hope I didn’t just jinx it lol“
