8526 Madison Ave, Fair Oaks“Amazing place to learn martial arts!! Family friendly. Empowering for boys, girls, men, and women. They do a wonderful job of integrating critical life lessons into every practice. Flexible scheduling and reasonable prices. The staff truly care about teaching. My daughter is a Junior Black Belt and has attended classes twice per week since she was 5 years old (she will be 13 years old in August). Before coming to Kovar's, we tried out other dojos, and I can honestly say that Kovar's is light-years above the rest. No hype or bravado. Tons of little touches that mean a lot, such as greeting everyone (students and parents/guardians) by NAME when they enter the dojo (and saying goodbye when they leave). The camps and parent-nights-outs are awesome. Less emphasis on tournaments than on classes, which suits us well (but tournaments are available for those who want them). We love being part of the Kovar's family.“

7831 Sunrise Blvd, Citrus Heights“We absolutely love this Taekwondo after-school program and the youth classes! The staff truly goes above and beyond—not only teaching discipline, confidence, and martial arts skills, but also helping the kids grow in so many other ways.
Ms. Teena is amazing—she has been so patient and encouraging with my five-year-old, even helping her learn how to read. Her dedication and kindness shine through every day. Ms. Amy is equally wonderful with the kids—she knows how to keep them engaged, motivated, and having fun while learning valuable life skills.
This is more than just a Taekwondo school—it feels like a supportive community that really cares about the kids and their development. I’m so grateful for the positive impact it has had on my girls.“

2250 Del Paso Rd Ste a, Sacramento“This review is looooong overdue. My son trained at Kovar's Natomas location managed by Ilya for 6 years earning his Black Belt in Kenpo. Ilya's team of instructors were a major help to us by instilling great character and discipline in our son during many of his formative years. He has just graduated with his Master's of Science this year. He has never had to use his martial arts skills to defend himself but he uses them every day to succeed in life! Thank you Ilya and all of your colleagues over the years.“

4819 J St, Sacramento“Zen Martial Arts provides an exceptional education that goes beyond just the physical or technical aspects of karate. The structure and format incorporates mindfulness and enhances critical thinking abilities. The Dojo teachings cover topics that prepare the students for a variety of real world challenges. The foundations of self control, awareness, and respectful conduct give students a mindset that will serve them well in the years to come. Things like: Accountability, Learning, Mastery and Achievement within the setting of a safe environment is something we very much value.“

7909 Fair Oaks Blvd, Carmichael“We are very grateful to this Taekwondo school for the way they treat both children and parents. This is more than just a sports school — it is a place filled with care, respect, and genuine attention to every child.
The instructors know how to connect with kids, support them, motivate them, and at the same time teach discipline, confidence, and self-control. My child attends classes with joy and enthusiasm, and as a parent, that means everything to me.
The school has a warm, family-like atmosphere where effort is valued just as much as results. It is wonderful to see how children grow here not only physically, but also emotionally and mentally.
Thank you for your professionalism, kindness, and for doing so much more than just training. We are truly happy to be part of your school“

5961 W Oaks Blvd c, Rocklin“Our family has been part of Robinson's Taekwondo in Rocklin for nearly a decade, and the experience has been phenomenal. Both of our kids trained under Master Clint, and I couldn't have asked for a better mentor. His dedication, encouragement, and ability to create a welcoming environment make every student feel at home.
Thanks to his positive coaching style, both of my children settled in quickly and began progressing at an impressive pace. Master Clint is not only personable and full of energy but also incredibly skilled—I’m always amazed at how he effortlessly remembers all the Poomsae steps!
I could go on for much longer, but I'll stop here. If you're searching for an outstanding, family-run Taekwondo center, look no further—Master Clint is the one to trust.“

2801 Zinfandel Dr, Rancho Cordova“My son (4) and daughter (5) have been part of the Little Dragons taekwondo program for a year now, and the growth in their behavior and maturity has been truly incredible. I feel so fortunate to have them training under GrandMaster Lee.
His dedication is unmatched; you can tell master genuinely cares for every student. It is evident by the extra time he spends before and after class providing free tailored 1-on-1 instruction.
Beyond self-defense techniques, he instills vital foundational life skills like facing challenges with confidence, public speaking, and self discipline. I consider this martial arts training a worthwhile investment in my children’s future, and it is already paying off. If you are looking for a fun and enriching extracurricular activity outside of typical youth sports, Lee’s Martial Arts is it!“

While it is a bit pricey, I see it as an investment because these classes teach so much—discipline, courage, and listening skills that children carry with them into school and throughout life. My child is usually very shy since he is an only child, but these classes have helped him come out of his shell tremendously. I’m so glad we found this amazing place!“

The workouts after classes are also a great option, involving cardio weights and capoeira related movements. The students are a wide range of abilities and Mestre Aranha holds a welcoming space. Classes regularly review the beginning skills if needed (while keeping the challenge for more advanced students) so anytime is a good time to give it a try!“

4711 Whitney Ave, Carmichael“This dojo feels like a truly traditional place to study jiu-jitsu. Instead of having many different instructors, there is a real sensei who consistently teaches the students and builds strong relationships with them. That continuity makes the training feel authentic and respectful to the traditions of martial arts.
What I appreciate the most is how much attention the instructor gives to each student. The groups are small, so everyone gets personal guidance, corrections, and support. It really helps students understand the techniques better and improve faster.“

“We love Robinson’s Taekwondo. Great teachers and instructors who help you push yourself to become a better version of yourself. They are encouraging and supportive. You are not just learning new skills physically but also learning a new mindset about what is possible. Will never stop going to training!“
