“We hired Unique Remodeling to do an entire gut renovation of our house which included knocking down walls to open up a kitchen, creating a new bedroom out of a 2nd floor den, and completely changing the layout of two bathrooms. I worked directly with Effie who was the day to day lead on the project. Overall, I am very happy with the end result for the price we paid and am giving a 5 star rating based on value, responsiveness, and honesty.Before hiring Effie and his team I got quotes from 3 contractors, Unique Remodeling wasn't the cheapest but they were much less than the most expensive. I hired Effie because it was clear that he had deep experience actually doing the work. “We worked with Elite Home Builders on our ADU, which was a two car garage conversion in our backyard, and we’re really happy with the final result. It’s now a flexible guest room and office that also doubles as an indoor/outdoor entertaining space. The custom layout we came up with together works perfectly, and the passthrough window and outdoor bar have already become the star of the backyard. Guests keep commenting on the workmanship, the attention to detail, and how thoughtful everything feels.

A special shoutout to Sharon, who was fantastic to work with. He kept everything organized, stayed in close communication, and made the whole process feel manageable even when things got complicated. Gabriel was great too and really helped us think through finishes and the smaller details that make the space feel complete.

Like any construction project, we hit a few bumps along the way. The project took longer than expected, mostly due to a subcontractor delay and a very nit picky inspector who required a lot of extra steps. To their credit, Gabriel & Sharon stayed on top of both issues and chased everything down until it was resolved. The final price stayed within the contingency we planned for and the main overages were tied to the inspector’s requirements.

They were also super accommodating with the smart home upgrades I wanted to do myself. They ran low voltage conduit between the main house and ADU, let me pull ethernet and speaker wire after framing, and even coordinated timing with an external HVAC specialist so we could install the complex minisplit setup I wanted.

Every crew member who came through was courteous, respectful, and careful. The finishing work, especially the painting and drywall, was excellent. In the end we got exactly the ADU we envisioned and we’d happily work with Elite Home Builders again.“

“I can't recommend Sunshine Foundation highly enough. They provided some of the best customer service I've ever encountered anywhere. AND -- they are one of the few companies that don't charge you $500 for a review of your foundation and an estimate on the work that needs to be done. In addition, they're honest. My foundation needed to be retrofitted and as I put out calls I found that everyone else routinely charges $500 to give you an estimate (not Sunshine). In addition, somehow I got caught up in the network of contractors who are on the state's earthquake site and are "qualified" to do repairs. The contractor who tried to scam me bid $28,000 -- with a sketchy bid, AND they were clearly sub-contracting to someone else. Sunshine did the work for $7,000, and provided a thorough audit of the work that needed to be done, with photos. Their team worked incredibly quickly. Unfortunately, the workers were a little bit sloppy -- but Sunshine quickly took care of everything that needed cleaning up, at no cost to me. They are also exceptionally helpful at making sure the required inspection process (required by the city) goes smoothly. I've had a lot of work done on my house in recent years, dealing with many many different contractors -- and Sunshine is at the top of the list. You can trust them 100 percent, and the work is excellent.“

“Fermin and the guys at K.D. Construction did an amazing job on our backyard remodel. They built a new patio out of stone pavers, new planters including lighting, a paver walkway with lights as well as new grass and sprinkler system. They also rebuilt the patio columns to better support the upper deck. Thy added new water and gas lines to support the outdoor kitchen as well as painted all the perimeter walls and repaired the stucco of the garage and backside of the house. This is the 2nd big job KD has done for us. A few years ago they added the 2nd story to our house and pretty much rebuilt the house from the ground up. Great guy and great work!“

“Prior to a HVAC project, we were referred to Allied Insulation to remove and vacuum the loose insulation from our attic. We contacted Allied Insulation, and they came out immediately. Their technician was also really knowledgeable, gave us a quote and day they could start. They were reasonable, knowledgeable and showed up on time, took all of the old insulation out of the attic and replaced it with state-of-the-art maximum density insulation. They accomplished the entire job in one day including clean-up. I can't say enough about these folks.“
