For the past four years I’ve been searching for a hairdresser who could give me a modern cut for my large curls that looks great as it grows, and I had pretty much given up. Then I saw someone with a gorgeous haircut similar to what I was hoping to get and they told me it was from Shab, so I decided to give her a try.
I couldn’t be happier! I have large curls and love short, modern styles, and Shab delivered beyond my expectations. She’s also incredibly friendly, and she shared so many helpful tips for caring for and styling my hair.

This was my first time getting a facial (ever!) and it was truly fantastic! The place has a really lovely, relaxing vibe and Rosiane was so friendly and knowledgeable. She immediately identified some issues I've been struggling with for a long time, made some recommendations that left my face GLOWING!! Our session was really relaxing and I've never felt as good about my skin as I did when she was done. I would 100% recommend getting anything done by her and am definitely going back for more (:
Had a rat problem in the townhome I was renting out to tenants. First tried a couple guys from Thumbtack--they patched some holes and did some proofing, but kept wanting to charge me every time they came back without actually fixing the main issue. Then I found Gilbert. He guarantees his work for 12 months with unlimited pickups, but honestly, haven't even needed it since he did the job. Rodent proofing's tough to feel good about paying for, but I'd trust this team over the other guys for sure.
My doctor gave me a list of PT places but I asked her who she liked and she recommended Daphna Ross so I called her and I am so glad I did. Daphna helped me so much! She is so knowledgeable, kind and patient. I highly recommend her!

The name says it all! We have used this wonderful, local caregiving service for my elderly mom for over 3 years. At first I needed just a few hours several days a week of relief/support with light housekeeping, daytime supervision, medications and meals. By last October my mother's mental and physical health was deteriorating to the point where she could no longer be safely left alone and I was worn out, so we made the transition to 24/7 caregivers. It was easier than I'd anticipated and has been a huge relief. Francis and his staff are unfailingly responsive, friendly, reliable and know this business inside out. He "got" my mom immediately and has been terrific at selecting caregivers that provide a good match for her. EC@H offers time block options, flexibility, pricing and hand-picked caregivers that you can't get with a big national company (we tried one for a while--lots of billing errors, difficult to communicate with, not very carefully screened caregivers!). Our caregivers from EC@H are wonderful: respectful, kind, careful, well-trained. They've followed "to a tee" the COVID protocols set by Francis throughout the pandemic. I'm so thankful for their sacrifices to keep my mom safe! My mother has gone from initially rejecting the idea of "strangers" in her home to accepting and actually thriving on the daily routine, stimulation and loving attention! I can't recommend Excellent Care at Home highly enough!
I came to see Dr. Orr with complicated and difficult vision issues. He was incredibly patient and worked with me for many months to try to get the best correction possible. He also recommended that I consider a surgical treatment which turned out to be highly successful and was life changing. I am so grateful to have found him and this practice.

I went to Emily for a fresh new cut and color. I had not colored my hair in about 6 years. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she went to work delivering better than the picture! I've been going to Shanna for years. I would never have stayed so long if she wasn't great. As a person, she's kind, friendly and fun. As a stylist she's skillful, knowledgeable and fairly priced. I don't even specify what to do; I just let her go to town and it always comes out well. I tried numerous other people before making Shanna my go-to. I just trust her to do a great job every time.

This review is long overdue for Katherine Perkins. She is literally a wizard with scissors. She has a Lyle following and she was highly recommended by one of my professional colleagues. This may have been my best haircut ever. I wanted curtain bangs and a lot of length chopped off and she delivered. Appointments are easy to make through their online booking system. It's hard to get an appointment with Katherine so make sure you book in advance. The salon is nice and clean and in downtown Lafayette, plenty of parking. They have Kerastase and Oribe products too!

My barber Francesco recently started working here Sun - Tues and I have been getting my haircut from him here ever since. The facility is quite nice, the seating is comfortable in the waiting area and I’ll stations have barber chairs and their own personal hair washing station.

I started getting my haircut here last year. Robin and Roya are both extremely talented and I always leave with a great haircut regardless of which one of them cuts it. If you're new to the area or just want to try someone new I highly recommend you give them a shot. You won't regret it.
Love this place. Chris is the man! I absolutely recommend this barber shop to all. The environment when you walk in is like no other. Everyone is so welcoming and nice. You can't go wrong! When I arrive I sit down and wait for Chris to finish up. Who ever is not cutting hair at the moment will come introduce them selves and ask if I would like a water or something to drink. Chris has been cutting my hair for a couple months now and I will never be choosing another spot to get my hair cut. Chris has hands down given me the best haircut, highly recommended.
Went to Michelle and all I can say is wow! My nails look beautiful. My nails are real and very long. Michelle did an absolute perfection of a job on both my nails and gel pedicure. I might add she actually scrubbed my feet which a lot of places don’t do these days.

I love this place so much! They pay attention to detail, understand style and are all so lovable. I had to find a new nail salon when my go to girl moved back home and I tried Mt. Diablo for my wedding nails a few weeks ago. My wedding is next month and I am 100% going to them right before! Lilian is so good at shaping and making sure the nail isn't too thick. She is always wearing the cutest velvet jumpsuit. I love that she understands what I want without having to explain too much. She is really good at what she does and I adore her. Amy and another woman who works here are the nail tech artists! They're really good at following the designs you show them and take pride in what they do. Be kind and patient any time you get a design and they'll do a great job! My nails are strong and stay on and I am very active with my hands with two powerful dogs and working on a computer all day long. Some days you can walk in no problem but I recommend ALWAYS calling because they also can get very busy. I can tell they have a lot of regulars. They will do everything they can to fit you in. Please treat all of these hardworking professionals with respect as they're all very talented and lovely ! Worth the wait or rescheduling if they're booked but a phone call in advance never hurts :)

I used to get all my manicures here, but its really hit or miss with who you get. Some manicurists are amazing, but then I had a couple who really messed up my nails. It was hard to request someone by name because of how busy they get. So its hard to predict if you’ll love or hate your manicure here

Danielle is the best. I have been going to her 12+ yrs and she is the only one trust. My dark blond hair easily turns orange and brassy when lightened. Several other stylists have been confident they could handle it but they failed leaving me orange, but not Danielle! She stays current on different styles and new products so if I want a change she is prepared and educated. Bayalage, Yes! Olaplex, Yes! Beachy waves, Yes! I always feel like a star leaving her care and with my locks on point!

For such an "affluent" area, Lafayette is lacking in quality nail salons, and salons in general. I had someone mention she had been going to Mon Mon, for close to 12yrs, and wouldn't go anywhere else. So, I had to give it a try. WOW. It exceeded my expectations. I've been to resort spas around the world, this place is equivalent of a high-class resort in Tahiti. Thank you so much to all that you do. I don't mind spending a bit extra, to be pampered like a Queen, and with the most up-to-date equipment and services.

I cannot say enough about how much I love how Kate has transformed my hair! I realized that the Denise W review is referencing my hair! Thin, it was greying, I was coloring it myself. Kate worked with me to transform my hair to a blonde/grey combo that completely hides my grey. But I can now go 3 months without coloring, and it still looks good then! Baby highlights to blend with my grey. Coloring less and changing up my shampoo/conditioner routine and my hair is also healthier now! I would like to add that I never leave reviews, but want people to know about Kate! She is the grey whisper (how I found her on a FB group).

It's been YEARS since I've seen Tonya and I still miss her every time I need a was. EVERY. TIME. She has been extremely helpful with skincare tips and works on building a relationship with her clientele. She is patient but quick and super communicative/responsive. If I'm ever back in the area and need a service done, she's my go-to. I've referred all my friends to her. I may even make the 1.5 hour drive just to start going back to her. I also rarely ever leave Yelp reviews but truly miss her so much that I had to get online to leave a review.
Sandra Martin is an amazing aesthetician. She is warm, calming, and knowledgeable. My teen who has acne sees her frequently to control its spread. She has helped minimize his pores and he feels much better about the texture and appearance of his skin. I did not want him to be on Accutane and I am so thankful that her effective and natural approach saved the day. I would recommend her to anyone because of the results I have witnessed after only a few visits and on top of that, she is reasonably priced.

Travis and the team at Dream Big Construction installed new front and security screen doors for us. Every step of the process was handled in a clear and precise way, and we always felt like we were being listened to. Our first time hiring them, but I'm guessing it won't be the last. Could not recommend highly enough.
Big Red has been my contractor for over 20 years for my 1923 house. Projects Big Red has done for me: Complete Kitchen remodel (2023), Deck extension (2023), complete Bath remodel (2005), and many other smaller projects. Projects start on time and end on time; workmanship is high-quality; cost estimates are reliable; the work crews are a pleasure to deal with. Most importantly, when something isn't quite right, Kathy will work to make it right. It's great not to have to worry! Big Red will never be the cheapest bid on a job, but in the end Big Red delivers value for the money.
In 2024, we worked with Lamorinda Construction on a whole house remodel. We chose them because they checked all of our boxes, and most importantly because they were a local business with vast experience and a solid reputation in the area. Having done a remodel previously, we knew that there would be many surprises along the way so we wanted someone who could confidently navigate whatever came up, and who would stand behind their work. It has been almost a year now since finishing and I can say that this is exactly what we got. The project had its twists and turns as all construction does, however at each step, I could always count on an honest assessment, mindfulness of time/budget, and full support moving forward no matter which direction we chose. If it was in their power to make something happen, they would make every effort they could to accommodate us. On top of this, they work fast and do not cut corners. It's hard to imagine how our build could have gone any faster. We LOVE our house and could not have pulled this off without their help!

I highly recommend Jean Fogg to anyone looking for a landscaper or landscape maintenance. Jean has worked in our community for many years, and he has an excellent reputation. He is highly experienced, has a hard working crew and conducts his business with honesty and integrity. We reached out to him when we were undergoing a complete remodel of our house. Jean connected us with an entire team for our landscaping needs: a landscape architect as well as masonry, asphalt, and concrete contractors, with Jean taking the lead on the project, which was substantial and included a new driveway, steps, irrigation and landscape lighting. Jean understood which plants would work best in the different areas of our property and gave excellent advice. He was responsive and collaborative, and it has been a pleasure to work with him. I can’t imagine going anywhere else. Now we have Dr. Alex who joined the practice. What a wonderful addition. Both Dr. Vic and Dr. Alex are so personable and caring. All their work is professionally done with a gentle touch. The patient’s comfort is always their number one concern. All the office members are so friendly and helpful. I recommend this office to everyone.

Dr. Christina truly has the hands of a healer. I’ve called her a magician a number of times immediately after my adjustment.
I injured my ribs from snowboarding a couple of years ago. The pain was unbearable and I could not sleep for weeks and then I found her! I’ve been to chiropractors off and on for 25yrs and I’ve never had a doc spend the time she did with me to explain my injury, among other things and come up with a treatment plan. Long story short, one adjustment during that first appt nearly cured the pain, by 85%, not kidding and I finally slept through the night after 4wks of pain.
I can go on and on with subsequent injuries that she has healed…. trust me, she has been a miracle.

I have gone here about 10+ times. I was skeptical at first because in the past, I have gone to many Chiropractors and I didn't feel like there was a significant change. However, I was referred to him when I had this annoying nerve that radiated from behind my ear to the top of my head. I didn't expect immediate results, but when I saw Bob he talked through every step of the visit and made sure that I was comfortable. After my neck adjustment, the annoying nerve issue just completely went away. I believed that there was a pinched nerve somewhere. As an Esthetician, I see him for monthly maintenance due neck, shoulders, and lower back pain. It is helping and it brings down the stress and tension. I first saw Dr Jakobsen when I was 14 years old running cross country. Now I see him whenever I'm in town because the fact is no one compares to him. While other chiropractors focus solely on the spine, Dr Jakobsen notices the whole body. If your knee is off or your shoulder is off, psoas muscle is tight, etc, he will notice it AND fix it. He also has the most positive and warm energy and I always leave there feeling pain-free and more hopeful and optimistic about my health problems. Very grateful.

MDVM always provides great and friendly service to our pets. My dog isn't always thrilled about having a visit, but she knows the drill, sits on the scale upon entering & goes happily with whichever tech comes out to get her. My most recent visit was for a vaccine, but I had a question for the doc regarding a past follow-up visit that required a visual. Following a referral from a friend I started seeing James several months ago. Although I was not experiencing any pain, I was definitely going through some very stressful events. Not fully understanding the techniques I decided to give him a try and haven't looked back.
Each session has been a bit different but equally as effective and even though the touch is so quiet and relaxed, I feel better than if I had just received a 90 minute full body massage.
The stress relief doesn't just last while I'm there, it becomes more ongoing with each appointment and my body feels like it's being unblocked.
