“I have had several excellent massage experiences here (particularly with Alexis and Vanessa), but this review is specifically for Amy. During another great therapeutic massage, Amy did a little foot reflexology. She said that I have a major hormone imbalance, along with some inflammation in my lower intestine that wasn't, in her words, "that bad... yet." When I questioned her about it, she said that she could feel the inflammation and tenderness in certain areas of my feet, and said I was probably just about to start my cycle, or that something was entirely wrong with my hormones. I brushed it off at first, thinking there was no way that was accurate, but the next day I had a horrible bout of late-onset food poisoning in my lower GI tract. Alarmed that Amy was correct about the inflammation in my intestines, and because I was over a week away from starting my cycle and had issues with it the last couple of months, I started researching hormone imbalances. Sure enough, the symptoms that popped up were things I had been questioning my doctors about for years that were brushed off, or were new issues that had only just started occurring in recent months. As luck would have it, I had an appointment with a new doctor the week after my massage. I told her my symptoms and this story, and she immediately ordered bloodwork to test my insulin and hormones. Lo and behold, my results were out of range, and after years of being told I'm too young to have anything wrong with me, I was finally diagnosed with PCOS and insulin resistance. I am now receiving the medical care and medication I need, and it's all because of Amy's in-depth knowledge of her craft. All that aside, she is a wonderful conversationalist and a great therapist who effectively massaged my right hip/glute/hamstring so well that I am no longer experiencing sciatica pain there. I would recommend Amy a thousand times over, whether you need a massage, a good conversation, or even (in my case at least) a medical diagnosis!“
