The day of our Dad’s service was a tranquil one, aided by the notable guidance of Dave Pimentel, who patiently worked with us in advance, Marco Barajas and the Navy Honor Guard. We can’t thank them enough for the respectful way in which they assisted us, especially Marco who compassionately prepared us for each service detail and ensured that our Dad’s remains were carefully handled in the most dignified manner. The Navy Honor Guard was equally deferential…politely accompanying Dad’s remains, paying tribute both through a lovely Taps rendition and then the flag folding/presentation.
Our Dad would’ve been so proud and honored to see the way in which the staff and volunteers at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery made his service a beautifully respectful one. The kindness they showed our family and the gratitude they possessed for Dad’s military service is deeply appreciated.
