“I've been coming here for several years and have always had great experiences. There are several vets and all of them are kind, helpful, and compassionate. The techs and front-of-house are really lovely, and have always been very easy to schedule with (and are even open Sundays which is uncommon and very appreciated). I think pricing is comparable to many other vets in the area, and has never felt exploitative (which I've experienced elsewhere).They handled continuing service during Covid really well, and the new-ish expansion is really great.“

“Took my pomeranian Owen here today for his first teeth cleaning. I was so nervous at first but left very satisfied. I never knew my dog's teeth could become so white and without anesthesia was a huge plus. This place is also affordable compared to the 2-3k for a dental cleaning at a regular vets office. I will be recommending this place to all my pet parents and will be taking Owen back for dental cleanings.“

Dr. Rhoades carved out 45 minutes to thoroughly cover all options during an end of life conversation for our little man Jack. We unequivocally trust Dr. Rhoades and would only allow him to help us make this decision. I read the couple bad reviews below and I would say to form your own opinion. Dr. Rhoades is very thorough in explaining all options and that may feel like he is “pushing” services, but it’s not the case as he always reinforces it’s your decision. I also recommend Nationwide insurance for any pet owner if you can afford the monthly premiums.“

“Dr. John Traversi is my gift from God.In July of 2019, I was told by the VCA that my dog may only live 6 to maybe 12 more months; Dr. Traversi gave us 2 years. His level of compassion and patience is completely immeasurable. There were times that I was ready to give up because I felt like a failure, but I will never forget that Dr. T. said to me, “while Simon presents clinically ready for euthanasia, I know in my heart he is not.” He kept Simon alive.When everyone else brushed my dog’s seizures off as “idiopathic epilepsy”, Dr. T. took an extensive amount of time to sit and talk with me, while sitting on the floor giving kisses to my dog, listening to the history of seizures that came out of nowhere. He took notes on when and how they were happening and was able to diagnose a brain lesion with testing. When a trio of anti-convulsants no longer had any effect on the seizures, I became obsessed with Googling his symptoms and reading articles related to dozens of possible treatments that might work, and I would send emails to Dr. Traversi at 1, 2, 3 a.m. because I wasn’t sleeping.It was his recommendation to start a low dose of steroid in hopes that it would reduce the size of the brain lesion, and it worked. It 100% stopped the seizures.Dr. Traversi has been there for us every single time that I needed him; me, I needed him. When Id have doubts about whether or not I was being a good dog mama, he would give me the reassurances I needed to continue fighting to keep my boy alive. When I say that I appreciate Dr. Traversi for everything that he’s done and the time that he’s given us, that is an understatement. I don’t know how to put into words how grateful I am for you, John. I am blessed to have been able to share numerous additional holidays with Simon, as well as trips to the mountains - his happy place.His 14th birthday is September 24th, 2021, just over two weeks from now. Never did I ever think we’d be planning a party, but we are, and that is because of Dr. John Traversi and the entire staff at San Diego Bay Animal Hospital. Shout out to the guys and gals, especially Erika, for fielding all of my emails and phone calls, and prescription refill requests without ever giving me attitude; believe me, I know I deserve one. “I highly recommend Kensington Veterinary Hospital for your pets care.Since my chocolate lab (Jake) was a puppy (2009) and for his entire life, the incredibly caring and competent veterinarians and staff at Kensington Vet have been overseeing his health and well being and did a truly wonderful job. He made it to 15 years old and with the good guidance of Kensington Vet, was a happy and healthy pup for all of those years.Throughout his time there, he saw most every doctor at Kensington Vet including Dr. Gossard, Dr. Seitz, Dr. Unger, Dr. Valdez and Dr. Mason. They were all so kind, gave him lots of love and the best care you could ask for (even if that meant recommending that we see a specialist elsewhere).For his last 5 years or so, he mostly saw Dr. Gossard as she also does the acupuncture treatments (which really helped with his arthritis). Her incredible kindness and caring bedside manner felt like Jake was as much her dog as he was ours. You can’t ask for more than that from your vet.I also really appreciated the fact that over his lifetime they didn’t oversell or overprescribe for his care. They would always layout options and give us recommendations (mostly from a holistic perspective), which I really appreciated as other vets often overprescribe. Thankfully, Jake was rarely medicated until his last year or so when he needed it to manage pain.Dr. Gossard and her entire staff are one of the big reasons why my pup lived a happy and healthy life to the ripe old age of 15 and I’m so grateful to them for that. I recommend Kensington Vet with my highest praise and when I’m ready for my next dog, they will definitely be my veterinarian of choice.“
