When we first arrived we were greeted by Junior and Professors Doug and Phil. They were so welcoming. I knew this was the place for him because immediately after, he asked when he can come back. I also decided to join the team and start training because I had a little bit of experience but nothing formal. It’s also a great way to bond with your kids because you understand what it’s like to train and can grow together. The skills they learn here at Gracie Barra will last a lifetime and will be something they can rely on, on and off the mats. If you’re thinking about BJJ for yourself or your kids, this is the place to be.“

He has learned so much with all the senseis and they are all so patient with him but strict (which I love and wanted). He loves going to class and always has a smile on his face.“

475 College Blvd Ste 2, Oceanside“We tried 2 other facilities before becoming part of the Key Martial Arts Family. None of the other places could even get my son out onto the mat even though he was adamant
he wanted to do it. Sensei Matt was able to gain my son’s trust and had him participating right from the beginning. Giving me a special seat next to the mat so I was closest to my son putting him at ease, being firm but encouraging, and pushing him to try his hardest. My son feels right at home there and is so excited to come home and practice new skills he has learned.“

She quickly was able to have my daughter engaged in what she was teaching. My daughter caught on so quickly I was so proud of her. The teacher is sweet and a caring person & is really good with the young kiddos. I definitely recommend this place ❤️“

4065 Oceanside Blvd Suite F, Oceanside“I’ve been training at Kaigan Karate-Do for the past year and a half alongside my son, and it’s been an incredible experience for both of us. We’re not just learning karate—we’re learning discipline, respect, and resilience together.
I’ve seen my son’s confidence grow tenfold. Sensei Jorge strikes a rare balance between teaching practical self-defense and instilling strong character and focus. He knows how to challenge students while still making them feel supported.
What makes this dojo special is the sense of community. It’s a place where kids and adults alike are encouraged to push themselves, celebrate progress, and stay humble.
I highly recommend Kaigan Karate-Do to anyone looking not just for martial arts training, but for a place to grow—both on and off the mat.“
“My kids have been going for a few months now and they love it. It's family oriented and you can attend the days they offer it without a set schedule.“

1611 S Melrose Dr, Vista“I earned my First Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo in my early 20s in Northern California. Years later after marriage and kids I enrolled my son, and later my daughter in Master An’s Dojang in Vista. He is phenomenal with children, teaching them discipline and respect while making class fun for them. Both my children earned their black belts with Master An. I can see how the self-confidence they developed helps them in their lives. He encouraged me to start training again, and at age 49, I thought I was too old, but I came back, and for the last 15 years I have been training, learning, and growing in Taekwondo and Hapkido with Master An. Training and testing with my kids have been some of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Master An understands each student’s ability and helps them reach their potential. If you or your children want to get in shape and have fun while learning martial arts, I highly recommend Master An.“

325 N Brandon Rd STE C, Fallbrook“Martial Arts Concepts is an amazing studio. The atmosphere is so positive. Master Dan Paulson is a gifted instructor, who really knows how to teach and inspire. The black belts were kind, humble, and helpful. My son has taken classes there for four years, starting as a high school freshman. He has grown and changed so much during that time, gaining self-control, self-esteem (for learning new skills and surpassing his personal best, not because everyone gets a ribbon for showing up), respect for others, in addition to the martial arts skills that he learned. If he wasn't going off to college, he would still be going there. If you are looking for martial arts for boys or girls, this is a wonderful place to train.“
