Sensei Jorge Lopez is very humble. His passion for Karate is evident in his teaching style. This is a style which adheres to traditional Karate techniques with emphasis on full contact sparring. Sensei Lopez’s knowledge and experience make Karate Kaigan the top Karate dojo out of many in the area.
My boys and I have been training with Sensei Lopez and his family for some years now. If you're looking for a family friendly, but serious high quality traditional karate dojo where you'll have the opportunity to learn defense skills, sparring, weapons as well as kata forms and competitive sport karate, this is the place. From the littlest of ninjas starting as early as 2 and 3 years old tobolder adults (I started at age 48), beginners or black belts, you will learn from some of the most experienced Senseis around. One of the things I most appreciate about Kaigan Karate dojo is they are open to working with students coming from other styles and they have a breadth of experience and knowledge in goju ryu, shorin ryu, as well as shito ryu (the main style of the dojo). It's more than a dojo. It's a karate family.
