“I am a member of The Sunshine Performance Club in Laguna Woods and President of the Fit Brain Club in Laguna Woods which is sponsored by Alzheimer's OC. As part of the Sunshine Performance Club I have performed at the Healthy Aging Center (HAC) back in the daywhen it was called South Counties Adult Day Care Center (SCADS). As a Very Senior myself and wife of a wonderful man who passed away 6 years ago from Alzheimer’s with Lewy Body Disease, I became involved with the Center and all the benefits which Alzheimer’s OC brought to us through the activities they offered. In addition to Sunshine Lutey’s Performance Club, singing on Thursdays, my husband and I participated in a wonderful Couples Group on Fridays.As the center evolves under new leadership I look forward to collaborating with them and joining with the diverse activities through the many groups I am currently involved with in Laguna Village. Some of these groups are Tremble Clefs and O. C. Choral led by the incredible Music Therapist, Karen Skipper, The Silver Singers, Laughing Yoga with the Joyful Piano Artist Jeffrey Briar, Bridge Builders, and of course The Fit Brain Club with the amazing Mark Hochberg on Piano. “I can't say enough about the caregiver, Roman, we worked with through this agency. He went above and beyond to care for my dad, anticipate needs, and help us through this process.When my dad came home from the hospital, we recognized that we would need around the clock help. Caregivers came and went, many were unreliable, didn't seem to know how to clean or change a bedbound person, or just didn't care very much. When Roman came to care for my dad, it was the first time I could relax in months.One of the problems my dad has was new paralysis to his lower legs. My dad felt trapped in his body and would frequently ask for his legs to be moved. It was so tiring, but Roman would move his legs, reposition him, and never seemed to get tired of trying to make my dad comfortable. He talked to my dad with gentleness and respect, and was on time every day. We could count on him, and in this insanely difficult situation, that's what a family needs.We will miss Roman! He is an absolute gem of a human.“
“I can't say enough about this company. My dad has been in and out of the hospitals for the past 8 months and after his initial discharge, we were assigned to a care provider based in L.A. by the care facility. They were always either late or miss the appointments and my Dad situation got worse under their care to a point that had to go back to the hospital. By chance and through a 3rd party, I was referred to this company. After switching to Unified Care, I could not believe the difference between the service they offered compared to the previous one. From day one, one of their Nurses, (Mrs. Manijeh) rightfully diagnosed (later verified by the doctor) that a back wound he had been treated for, was the wrong diagnosis for that wound. It took one visit from her versus 4 months under care of the other company's nurse. After that, the other nurses, Mrs. Mehry and specially Mrs. Mahin who has been attending to his post-surgery wound vacuum and is getting better every day. She even came on the Memorial day holiday, because she did not want to miss his routine change of his wound. This company and their staff are like angels That I needed to help me with my Dad's situation. I should also mention the administrator person, Mrs. Shohreh; who is always great and pleasant and arranges all the appointments without any hassle. Something I never experienced with the other company. If you are looking for a professional and reliable Home health services, don't waste your time by going anywhere else. This comes from my painful and long experience with other company.“

“Golden Age Companions has been so helpful for our family as we care for our dad. I was able to Zoom with our caregiver Sara before we started, and in just those few minutes I knew she would be amazing. Now 3 months later she is a true member of our family. She is kind, responsible, trustworthy, and very comforting to my dad. He has cognitive decline and can get anxious at times, but he always relaxes when Sara is with him. When we decided we needed weekend help as well, Golden Age found Jennifer for us, and she is great too. She is kind, creative, reliable, and honest. Our case managers Cara and Rona have always been responsive to anything that comes up--we can just text them and they are on it. Having a parent who needs care can be super hard, but Golden Age has made it a lot less hard. Our dad has been a great father to us all our lives, so it's a real comfort to know great people are with him whenever we can't be.“

“Candan is the best nurse we have ever had. She is so knowledgeable about my husband’s medical needs and has a way of explaining to him what is happening that is easy to understand. Canan is also exceptionally caring and conscientious. Whenever I get anxious or have a question about my husband, I can call her cell phone and she will take the time to answer any worries I may have. And finally we appreciate her so much because she saved my husband’s life. She came for her regular visit and noticed some concerning issues in my husband’s speech. She evaluated him and called 911 because she knew he was having a heart attack. He was rushed the hospital and to surgery and spent 2 days in ICU. He is now home and back to his usual self. We feel very Blessed to have Candan as our Home Health Nurse!“
